He’s definitely a bright spot on this team. Plays hard on both ends of the court. We definitely got a gem.

Anyone else after a pretty good or great (not that we’ve had one yet) all around team win …. save reading HbK’s thread for last, almost like dessert? :D I want to see him get some minutes at point against other teams reserves maybe, like “yesterday”. With his court awareness and height and handles and change of pace and passing and shooting he might really be special there at some point in the future. Just would love to see it now. Maybe one of these times if the games in the bag halfway through the 4th. If we ever get one.

I'll be honest: when Ben Rosales says he makes Wayne Ellington expendable, I would agree with that.

I'd probably cut Ellington at some point. It would probably allow us to keep Bradley who can fill a role.

That would keep is @ 14 on the roster, right?

yeah, he's already got ellington's job, and monk is next if he can't figure out that defense matters.

It's going to be interesting when Tucker and Nunn get back. We aren't cutting Rondo, they already announced that he wasn't expected to play much. Ellington, Monk and Bradley are going to be fighting for that last guard spot.

^^^ …. more accurately fighting to remain with the team and not be the one to get waived or moved to create a deadline opening for that mythical wing who will help against the big wings we face in the playoffs.

I my mind, he should be considered over both of these guys, every single game.

From what I’ve already seen defensively, I think we could use that wing now. I don’t think the Artist Formerly Known As Trevor Ariza will help that much when he returns.

i'd like to give both ariza and THT a shot before really panicking about the big wing defender.

there's also buyout season. decent chance a wing defender is cut loose by team that's out of the playoffs and not interested in re-signing a veteran wing.

Statistically, we are one of the worst defensive teams in the League. I don’t think a 36 year old Ariza and THT will significantly improve this.

Ariza played well last year though according to posts here and stats and THT worked hard this off season surely on areas of his game they would have told him in exit interviews. Man D and help D and shooting undoubtedly have been pointed out as weaknesses.

The interesting thing about Ariza, is that while he's missed a lot of games over the last few years. When he does play, he plays a lot of minutes, this means that he is still an effective player.
