Wow. Yup feels like we got used. I was thinking about it last night and the one thing I couldn’t wrap my head around is what reason anybody would have had to even leak our “pursuit” on Thursday. If Hurley and the Lakers were both mutually interested, why not meet in private and then announce it to the media only if you came to an agreement? On Lakers side it was too risky optics wise to prematurely make this seem like a real thing because the org has to know how difficult it will now be for us to stomach JJ or Borrego Only thing that makes sense is that Hurley wanted to make this seem like a serious thing so he could leverage UConn
Ah well. Would have been a good get but we've got to move on to the next. Not a complete shocker with the way he handled it. Ugh, that’s deflating, now it feels like anyone else is settling whether that’s true or not or fair or not, that coach is going to come in being labeled the 2nd choice consolation prize just like Vogel was after we didn’t get Lue.
