I'm glad when Andrea came out, assuming she's a strong woman married to an alpha sports personality, that she met with the 2 strong women running the team plus Rob and whoever else Jeanie felt was good. Like her brothers. Maybe Kurt. FAMILY. Most gracious, intelligent and strong Jeanie Buss and her right hand business partner for over 40 years Linda Rambis. Jerry had Frank Mariani much of his business years. She reportedly supports Dan and to be connected like that she is involved with the team making the players feel at home away from home. But Dan is all about family per his own words, and who is MORE about the Lakers and "family" to the point of derision here than Jeanie. I wouldn't be surprised knowing all this intel on the Hurleys from Woj and Mike Krzyzewski, a 5 time collegiate and 3 time Olympic champion ..... if Jeanie emphasized the Lakers organization in that light and maybe even offers some kind of involvement for Andrea that she'd value and enjoy? That has to be a trip for Andrea to see two women at the top of the power structure of the most glamorous franchise in the league, when all her connection to it for 25 years has been the male dominance.

When abeer said UConn is losing 4 of their starters .... c'mon Dan your chances are not good for a 3 peat and seriously you're not an alpha, like Kobe described those that want to be a Laker .... you'll be a "weanie" if you turn this down. I bet Jeanie and Linda and Rob knew exactly how to approach Andrea Hurley. Not to mention Andrea has her own successful podcast. She could certainly blow that up out here.

I think he’s taking the Lakers job. I think more signs point towards it than not

Yeah, the “he plans to decide on Monday” line that’s been put out sounds to me like he wants to tell his players back in Connecticut and the NBA didn’t want an announcement in the day of a Finals game. Hope that is the case.

You don't take this long to say yes to such an amazing job/opportunity unless you're still trying to talk your wife/family into the move.
And if that's the case, then he needs to stay home.
Lakers don't need a coach with a heart in two different places.

Would love to see him in LA but he doesn't really seem to have an LA personality.

Anyways, Lakers have one more year of relevance before Anthony is traded and we're looking begging for 1st and 2nd round picks during the summer.

He's fresh off two NCAA championships in a row and runs an NBA-style offense.
But he's also losing four players to the draft.
Two top ten picks and a couple of second rounders.
So, if he's smart then he'll get going while the going is good.

For all we know he could have already told the Lakers yes and just wants to break it to his team and recruits personally before announcing

Carlisimo explained it well …. he went to a team in Portland with talent and finished in playoffs his 3 years there, while Rick and Cal didn’t have the same situation …. in that article a little ways back.

As an East coaster, kind of thought I would even wake up to the news. Regardless, seems like we are only an hour or two away.
