I feel like looking back Hurley checks all the boxes: “ The Lakers are seeking a coach who will command the locker room and hold players accountable, as well as tirelessly gameplan and provide a level of structure and organization, according to those sources.“ It sounds like they’re talking about Hurley specifically, while it’s more of a stretch they had JJ in mind.

Meh..AD is the franchise player, due for 60M per next season. His opinion is supposed to count more than Lebron's. The other two might not even be here, when this season starts.
They should listen to AD, but I'm over this narrative of blaming players over these FO decisions. They shouldn't hide behind AD if their choice fails.

True, but if that’s legit, that’s a crazy number of years to offer, no coach gets that in the NBA, that’s like a Phil Jackson type offer, that has to count for something you’d think. I doubt he isn’t able to counter either, if the Lakers want him you’d think they’d pay up.
If Dan takes the job he has to at least appear that this was a really tough …. tough decision for him (which it surely is) to leave UCON and the city that he and his family love. Probably best done with the decision finalized and announced at home. I think he’s challenge motivated and no way he could not be in awe and impressed with the premiere NBA team and organization it is …. when he is in Jeanie’s office with all of those trophies and in conversation with her. Jeanie seems the most genuine and engaging kind of a person, let alone owner of the team. If not now then he never will. That’s not this guy …. he’s going to want this most prime of opportunities IMO.
