If we can nail him. He just signed a $32-33 million dollar deal. We'll need to come in @ $10 million to start, IMO. Just freaking get him. Worth the gamble. IMO.
Definitely a relief to know that there was a process and our concerns appear to be unfounded. Morning has immediately perked up for me. Lol
maybe JJ will come on as an assistant to groom for a future position elsewhere dots connecting all over the place
True. I gotta think the ball has advanced pretty far for them to leak this to Woj. I imagine he had some kind of buyout. Many college coaches do especially for the NBA.
Wow, super interesting I forgot to mention it but recent history shows Rob constantly pulls out stuff the media doesn't know. Russ trade (both actually), FA signings, it's just his MO. This makes sense. I don't know the guy but overall opinion is really positive Hope we close it out today. In the other hand, woj doesn't really have inside info on us so let's see what comes out of this. We wouldn't be the ones leaking it too, so maybe this expedite the process
UCONN runs NBA sets and Hurley might be the best X and O guy in college hoops. We will see if it translates but I'm all in on this one.
Just thinking about this and correct me if I'm wrong: Woj doesn't get nothing from the Lakers from my understanding; usually the quicker more accurate intel comes from Shams, Buha, etc. However, isn't Woj based back east? could it be possible the "sources" he has are coming from Hurley's side? Just a thought.
You would have to think so, and that Hurley probably gave the ok for Woj to put this out there, otherwise he’d just come out and deny it and Woj would look bad. The latest, for the first time in a good while I’m liking what I’m hearing from our FO, try to build something with stability
I can’t sleep now haha. I don’t know if we get this done, but I love the move, I think for the first time in a while it shows some serious thought and ambition, and if the deal offered is truly “massive” it shows us not cheaping out again in an area we really can’t afford to cheap out in anymore and an interesting spin/take from the LeBron angle
A little concerned that we’ve never really seen a college guy be successful in the pros, but it’s worth a shot.
That's valid. Its what made the JJ stuff believable - it was coming from Shams, Haynes, Buha, etc. But, maybe the front office is actually turning over a new leaf and is using the media to their advantage. We will see. Hard to imagine a guy like Woj putting himself out there like this without a really really good source.
