That's all you got? Man you've fallen off pretty badly. I guess you are saving all your good stuff for the podcast. Bovine might be the next JJ Redick..keep hope alive.
Not mad at your takes TBH..they seem sensible enough. I'm rather ready to get this circus over with myself. I'm still Iffy on the success, of this Redick potential hire, but I'm really more interested in the roster plans, Rob has in mind. I've been re-watching the Denver series, over the last couple of days. I think we need some players with different skill sets , but it's the coaching thread. Hurry up and just do it then Rob!
Ok, now this is interesting. Very interesting. I guess Lakers were doing "their" due diligence. Rob played this one very close to the vest. Had me fooled. Either way, I like this a lot. LBJ apparently a fan, too. @ElginTheGreat thoughts?
I don’t follow college sports so not very familiar with this guy, but goes to show that maybe Rob/Jeanie have been playing things close to their chest and we shouldn’t just blindly trust the media reports. I doubt this is truly coming out of nowhere as much as it seems to us right now, so it seems likely the FO actually has been doing a lot of due diligence and casting a legitimate and thorough search
I’ve talked myself into JJ enough that at this point I would love to have him join on as an assistant lol
Thought this was a little harsh until I remembered the Sopranos reference… damn I wish I didn’t check my phone when I went to the bathroom at 4:30 AM, now I’m researching Dan Hurley AND watching Sopranos clips, my sleep cycle is going to hate me!
That is wild, the Lakers do not leak their real moves trend continues. If it happens it is IMO a very smart gamble, yeah he’s not an NBA coach but he’s one of the best in college ball. A relatively quick read on his resumé
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40289529/sources-lakers-preparing-massive-offer-uconn-dan-hurley The Los Angeles Lakers are targeting UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley as the franchise's next coach and are preparing a massive, long-term contract offer to bring the back-to-back NCAA national champion to the NBA, sources told ESPN. The Lakers have had preliminary contact with Hurley and the sides are planning to escalate discussions in the coming days, sources told ESPN. Hurley has been at the forefront of the Lakers' search from the beginning of the process, even while the organization has done its due diligence interviewing several other candidates, sources said. Lakers vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka and governor Jeanie Buss are eager to formally discuss with Hurley their vision of marrying his dominant program -- built upon both his tactical acumen and elite player development -- with the storied Lakers brand, sources said. Hurley, 51, has often described his ambition to one day coach in the NBA and has expressed to the Lakers a desire to explore the full picture of a partnership with one of basketball's winningest franchises, sources said.
Yeah. I like this a lot actually. First, I think Hurley is a great coach period. Second, it shows the front office was conducting a good search and actually playing the media game well as everyone seemed to think JJ was the guy. Good signs all around.
