https://x.com/shamscharania/status/1798101053935951947?s=46&t=-TNtfVLc4YqBPR7WzTnZC Per Shams, seems like just a formality at this point for JJ.
they’re hiring that dolt. Just waiting until the finals are over so they can do the press conferences and b*******. Also getting his staff ready.
Front office was locked in on JJ from the start. At this point We just have to hope for the best and this works out.
I think that JJ should be compared to Kerr ,not Pat Rylie In June 2007, Phoenix named Kerr the team's president of basketball operations and general manager. Kerr announced he was leaving the position in June 2010. After stepping down from his post with the Suns, Kerr worked as a color commentator for NBA on TNT until 2014. In May 2014, Kerr was named head coach of the Golden State Warriors.
The actual article from The Athletic doesn’t really convey any new information But “zeroing in” is the kinda language that Shams/Woj use when their sources indicate something is imminent but just not quite ready to officially announce yet. Wouldn’t be surprised if we got something more official within the next day or two
But we're inward focused organization, so comps still be made to former Lakers not those outside of the organization. Reminds me of when the break a draft selection before the pick is in but had to get creative with their word choice after the league cracked down on them breaking the official pick before the commish
Yeah but JJ would probably not make dumb starting line up changes in the Western Conference Finals starting 3 little guards against giants to get obliterated and behind the 8th ball the whole game
yeah, i might be an improvement over ham. couldn't believe when he pulled that s***. just capitulating before the jump. omg. and this isn't hindsight--i and others were confounded at the time.
I don’t think there’s any way he’s not an improvement over Ham, just based on how he talks about the game. I’m not high or low on this, it’s just a wait and see, but eh, we weren’t winning it all next year anyway. It came up on a podcast yesterday that we don’t have a top 5 player on our roster, and those are pretty much the teams who win, aside from that it’s been like the ‘04 Pistons and the ‘14 Spurs, both of those had great depth. So, hopefully this hire is just one that works out long term and we can build some stability, let him have more than a couple years to find his way.
Didn’t Young just get hired to be the coach for BYU? Because he’s apparently an offensive savant? But the Suns failed because Vogel can’t coach offense. But the Suns retained Young for his offensive prowess after firing Williams. But the offense was still Vogel’s fault. But none of this makes sense to anyone except one person on this forum and if you’re still reading this, you’re still wrong.
I bet he last two years. At least we have LeBron for ticket sales and remaining relevant! Yay! I’m ready for the rebuild.
