@lakerfan2 No they just took the Lakers shoe and redid the colors apparently. That's why the promo was so weak, as well as the supply so low. They had a lot more planned for the Lakers.

And they should be pissed. Business wise, there is no contest of who had the upper hand. AEG and the Lakers brand absolutely dwarfs the Clippers. So then the question is why did he choose the basketball side of the Clippers? I honestly think it came down to Magic quitting and the subsequent nuke on First Take. (Not to mention all the other drama over the last 6 years) AD is younger and significantly better than Paul George. Kuzma is better than everyone on their roster outside of Beverly (and that's certainly debatable) and Lou Williams. And oh yeah, we have arguable the best player on the planet as well in Lebron James. Actual talent and ability to win rings was heavily in the Lakers favor as well. That means it came down to management. That falls on Jeannie. AEG should be livid at Jeannie. She's an imbecile that got a reputation for being "smart" because she helped grow the Lakers brand.....a brand that was already the most popular in the sport by a country mile and also was winning 5 titles in that span. Other owners evidently love her. Well, duh. Cause as long as she's running things they know the beast that is the Lakers will never realize it's full potential.

I agree. What does AEG have to be pissed about? Because snake Kawhi led us and the Raptors on a wild goose chase? Should we have done something more when he clearly wanted his own team and didn't want to be second fiddle to AD and Lebron? Toronto has more to be angry about than us. That was an absolutely solid Plan B that the FO just enacted and we have a much more balanced roster than we would have if we had landed a third "star." We have AD and Lebron for f's sake. If they can't work with that after 6 years of not making the playoffs then what in the world do they want and need? Unibrow is a marketing dream and so is Lebron. Kawiet is not. Be stoked that we have a contender for the first time in ages!
Based on reports, Kawahi gave tor the opt to get pg for him as well but they couldn't beat lac price, so really kawahi used us n leverage the crap out of our interest n forced lac hand to pay whatever price it took to get pg.... So yes our FO got absolutely closed on in this drama, what they did after was great tho
From what you are describing everyone got worked in the Kawhi situation even the Paper Clips. This happens when superstar FA's basically call the shots which is what Kawhi did. Not sure how we could have done anything differently or better. Kawhi got what he wanted in the end - he pressured PG to join him (OKC got worked over maybe more than anyone else in this situation as he apparently forced their hand), and he got to play in the city of his choice without having to work with Lebron (who he apparently didn't want to team up with). Kawhi's an ahole. Screw him! Our FO recovered beautifully and put together a team that can contend. Nice job. AEG should be thankful that's the case. A less intelligent FO would have done much worse.
Such a jerk. I hope he enjoys Playoff Paul George who has really sucked thus far in his career. The guy could have played alongside AD in his prime for the next 4 years and dominated the league. Guess he wanted to do things the hard way. Bye bye snake Kawhi. Screw you.
