    Mr Rambis,

I heard that we were eyeing Toronto’s head trainer who is close with Kawhi. And the Lakers are waiting for the Raps to be eliminated so that they can make a move for him. Have you heard anything about that?

Hmmm, now I know this is coming from Bill Plaschke, but interesting nevertheless.

You messed up when the fans are mad at all this
You done MESSED up when part owners/investors are mad at you.

And no one feels bad for Jeanie and Co. There were no hard decisions to be made and they kept driving the wrong way on a one way. We tried to tell you.

LOL I did that in downtown LA last Wed trying to find the valet park for the Intercontinental Hotel for a one day video gig. The parking PDF sent was confusing. Turned right off Wilshire on one of the corners around the place and got about 20 yards the wrong way on a 4 lane street and realized what I had done.   Fortunately it was 6:10AM and empty for about 80 yards ahead of me and I was able to make a Y turn. Would have really sucked with more traffic.

Not to be negative but just don't see how you can be employed connected to a company heavyweight as AEG free lance or not and post on a visible Lakers message board, activist board no less before sirron deserted :speechless: , what 2 prominent agents of A list superstars said about their particular mind sets each of them within a couple days of each other. And not in a manly, stud, superstar macho sense. Without it getting back to those agents and KD (insecure) and Kyrie (fickle and all over the place). And saying Joey is consulting with Kidd. Not Vogel. I don't see how anyone in upper tier AEG even would know who Joey was talking to within one day of the hiring being announced.

Other than that hell yeah you know me .... ever since Gumby baby I want to believe.

I thought he said they basically don’t care about the basketball side of the house because they are making plenty of money on the marketing side.

How is he right on the money? Maybe I missed a post or two or skimmed right past it but I remember him saying AEG only cares about Lakers still making money. Marketing > Basketball.

Sound of crickets today. But just jetted into L.A. yesterday ..... right? All these LFR type of tough reporting questions we've been inspired to wonder about in the last couple of pages hopefully will be clarified for the "tin foilers" here. It's @vasashi17 's fault really for creating that kind of late night Coast To Coast Radio vibe on LB so hopefully no offense to any of us others acting in that manor.

    :Crazyartest:

All that's irrelevant though compared to seeing new faces show up to find out what's going on with the Lakers in this thread. I have seen several. Welcome to Lakersball! Best damn Lakers site on line with best damn graphics on the Internet. And that's a fact. Thanks Mr. Rambis for sure.

If Mr Rambis is legit, he has a day job, so I don’t expect him to be answering our questions 24/7. That said

Yeah well the new members will learn soon enough how abrasive and opinionated you can be. Some of us have to be nice.

Yikes guys! That's a lot of notifications. I wonder why I was ever even using facebook in the first place...

Today has been a busy day, with me back in the office. I just sat down to eat lunch (well, I guess dinner!) and had a chance to open the site. My times going to be extremely limited this week, so I apologize if I don't get to your questions. Just post them again if I miss it and I'll do my best to answer. Traveling is brutal, but at least I have the free time to sit in a lounge somewhere and type away when it's night time in the States!

Good to hear from you again @LTLakerFan !

I understand how troubling that might sound. But the thing is, Jeanie hired Magic because he sold her on the vision that he could acquire star free agents. If he was unable to deliver, he would have stepped down. I believe the LA Times did a story on this a while ago. Let me see if I can dig it up for you...

    Here's the full story: https://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-magic-johnson-free-agents-20180626-story.html

Hi Garren04 ! Nice to meet you.

Yes I heard those rumblings too. Unfortunately, the coaching search has occupied most of the front office's time, along with trying to put out this media fire storm. We may hear something soon, but I suspect, as you astutely pointed out, we will have to wait until the Raptors are eliminated.

If anything comes up, I'll pass it your way. But it's quite likely you'll hear the news from the media first. The AEG guys don't really care who the trainer is, so I doubt they even have that conversation with Jeanie.

Wow, a lot of posts about this report. Yes I heard it too. Hopefully I quoted everyone so that they get a notification.

AEG was aware of this report today, but I confirmed the leak did not come from the VP level up. So if Bill was talking to anyone in the organization, it was at a lower level. AEG is still interested in media revenues and ticket sales, not creating a coup in the Lakers front office.

I didn't have time to poke around about this too much, but here's my (personal, unsubstantiated) suspicion. There were folks in AEG who were concerned about the fan protest on Friday. Again, nobody at the top level cared. But perhaps a media director said something. Also, remember Bill is on the LA Times, who ultimately has a minority stake in the Lakers too. I haven't heard anything from the big Dr., but maybe he is upset and wants to do something with AEG. But again, nothing from the AEG side, as far as I know. You folks are smarter than me in a lot of ways based on your basketball analysis skills, so maybe you can come up with a more plausible reason as to why this was leaked today.

Hey @LTLakerFan ! Let me just start with saying I totally understand the skepticism especially coming from someone as thoughtful as yourself. But unfortunately, the reality of the front office is a little less organized than us fans would expect from a large corporate organization. Anyways, let me address a few of your points :)

    - I am not employed by AEG, or by anyone. I'm an independent consultant, and do this for fun since I would hope I'm too young to retire ;) I didn't come here just to post information, but to discuss Lakers basketball since I don't know too many die hard fans! Especially with the amount I travel. I do feel because I am not watching games as much and do not have the basketball saavy you folks do, I cannot contribute very much to the discussions of who is better to trade, or who is a better coach. Thus, I try to contribute how I can, with some information I know. Of course, I did not expect this to blow up to this degree! I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything. I am happy to scale back on this if it is disturbing the ecosystem of this website.

    - The Lakers are focused on Kidd for player development and most things, not Frank Vogel. When it comes to interfacing with the front office, everyone is going through Kidd, as they see him as the primary guy, and hence why his being an assistant coach was a requirement for any coach the Lakers brought on. Specifically with the draft, Kidd will be the one giving input from the coaches side, especially as he will lead player development. I happened to hear about the conversation because I asked an AEG guy who we were drafting, and that's the response I got. How or why he knows that, I don't know, but it's not my place to question those things. I will say that Joey has been eager to start finalizing draft selections, and he hasn't been able to do it because there is no a coach. So I'm not surprised he started discussions as soon as the hiring process was completed.
