Mostly I’m tired of sucky basketball, sucky leGMing, sucky coaching, injury issues etc. I’m ready to root for a team that I’m excited about, and that we feel like has reached its full potential win lose or draw. a team that works hard, plays defense, works as a team, outexecutes the competition…. We’re so far away from the good old days right now. AD just happens to be a fairly easy target when stuff like that goes down. but he’s hardly our biggest issue. One issue has been removed. Looking forward to seeing what we do from here.
Well maybe the GM can get us a big man who can take some of the punishment away from AD?? AD is a great player and has had some unfortunate injuries but he has also shown a willingness to play through these injuries of late and what I saw was that he outplayed Jokic for most of the series, until that last 6 minutes and he was playing one handed. I am grateful to have him and am not taking internet shots at him. If he said, screw it, I am done trying to please these fans and left for another team: the result would be that we would suck and the other team would be a LOT better. See what Gobert has done for Minnesota. And don't tell me, their turnaround is all due to Edwards. It isn't. Minnesota just showed us how to deal with Jokic. We need someone like Howard or ?????? (insert big strong body) and then get a solid outside shooter who can attack the paint. Let AD wander between PF and C, without absorbing as much contact.
Vando is considered to be one. When healthy. Offensive shortcomings aside. Why would you ignore him in that statement?
cause he wasn't available, I should've said we did not have one vs den but we did have him last yr and den or coach made him unplayable due to his O shortcoming
he can score in variety of ways when needed but we'll just have to see what Vando on O looks like next yr, Rui should come of bench, we had no help from bench maybe lil with prince, minn bench is scary good with Reed n naw
We will have no chance against Minny next year unless we significantly improve our team defense. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was watching last night. It was a magical display of REAL Throwback Defense. That it was done verses last year’s Champs, and little Mikey Malone’s squad, made it all the sweeter. Man, that brand of ball is exciting- no room for flops. No room for whining and complaining about phantom whistles that never come. Just real, NBA Basketball. I felt like I was in a time warp, back to the 90s and early 2000s eras. Just a massively fulfilling thing to behold.
i hope minny wins just so defense is sexy again. it's not like they were mauling guys like in the 90s, either. they just had a bunch of athletes expending max energy on that end and playing on a string.
Somehow …. re-acquire with trade or however the money spent on Gabe last summer and turn it into that hopefully pretty decent to good Big 5. “Unobtanium” and far too much for us to hope for …. wink …. Rui and Gabe in trade for a far better Big 5 of the type we need. Seriously for another team that’s talent on the perimeter if you need and more importantly big and talented Hachimura the same. Every team should have one and will be sorry to lose him below his probably higher level prime years.
Is he any good? Only 245 is that enough? Who gets traded with Gabe? Is Nick making 15M currently? All I briefly saw. I like his size though if he’s better than White Castle. Why do they do the trade? Seth got anything left?
Yes … the Wemby “crusher”. He’ll be gone though. Pimple will never play him anyway with his 3 guards “Inside” lineups. Oh. Wait!
pretty sure curry's done; he's salary ballast here. he and richards are both expiring, though, so if richards sucks, they can be repackaged in a deadline trade quite easily. or we just wouldn't be stuck with them. if gabe gets hurt again or sucks, we're stuck with him for another year. this is going to be quite the test case, imo. if this were 20 years ago, edy would be considered a surefire top 5 pick and maybe #1 overall (yao was #1--how different are their games, really?), but now there are legit questions as to whether he should be drafted in the first round. does your coach and the rest of your personnel allow for you to play drop coverage from the center? can he survive being put in the pick and roll every trip down? probably starting around where we're drafting, he's worth a look, but earlier...i'm not sure. there's reasonable bust potential there. the guy from uconn has more of the walker kessler game--less on offense, but just slightly more mobile on defense, and this is what the current nba rewards.
