Jokic has mastered this against AD - I wonder if there is a way AD to adjust to make the foul more obvious? Also why can't the Lakers seem to get Jokic isolated on the perimeter vs a guy like Reaves who he has no chance of staying with.
Let me say it this way. It's not just the running disparity. What I saw last night was Joker playing harder than AD. After that first possession dunk by AD and his mean mugging I was sure he was going to dominate the game like we saw in some of the playoff games last year. He was focused on scoring which was great. But, then he proceeded to pull down one whole rebound in the first half. Meanwhile Joker had 9 rebounds in the same half and just seemed like he could do whatever he wanted. Then there was the second half shrinkage by AD. Just frustrating to watch, especially with his recent talk about how him and Lebron were paying attention to all the Nugget noise coming their way.
AD says the same damn things after every inexcusably bad performance, and yet they still keep happening. Talk is talk, you’re paid the big bucks now, back it up. Jokic is the best player in the NBA, but you can still match him in effort, and AD didn’t, Jokic clearly wanted it more.
He will score 40 tomorrow vs Nurkic.I don't know how Jokic do it. According to news he was drank all summer long and never trained, but when it matters he just go and scored triple -double Maybe a little bit on the court, I was skipping it, a couple of days or a month, or two months," Jokic laughed.
I don't blame fan's for being po. We waited all this time for that. Average to good players can be taken out of their game by defenses. IMO great players adapt and over come. As much as I like AD I can no longer consider him a great player till he can consistently start showing up. Not just a few games but for the season and especially against the better teams. He looks mentally weak and his excuses are getting nauseating. Bad coaching, other players were off as well. Not all on AD but he is supposed to be the guy so the buck stops with him.
AD is frustrating because he looks like even in the same game that should be him that should be in the conversation for best player in the league. In the first half, he was awesome - he scored tough basket after tough basket and was physical. Oh well, it's still one game, if he plays like he did in the first half people will forget quickly one bad second half of a game
lol, no they won't. they'll focus only on the times he didn't do what they wished happened. rinse, repeat. someone even referenced him dominating playoff games a few months ago as if it were a bad thing. the parts of the game i watched that swung it were denver's guards hitting and ours missing. same shots.
He's built a rep unfortunately but I do think if he's consistent it will make this one half go more mute. His rep was going great last year despite the offensive fluctuations till they ran into Denver. Feel like his legacy will be more of a David Robinson rather than a Duncan or Hakeem the way things are going. He's going to have one of those runs in the playoffs that Dirk and Hakeem had to change that going forward. It is what it is.
agree with all but the bolded. AD simply doesn't get a fair shake, imo. he can basically do no right. when he puts up big games, it's "why not all the time?", when he doesn't, it's "see i toldya". he wasn't why we lost to denver in the playoffs or last night. but i guess i'm also one who thinks david robinson was pretty badass (and the gap between him and hakeem/td wasn't that big).
Not till he shows up against good teams consistently. Right now look across the internet. He is a meme...lol. and not in a good way.
internet reactions is not where i go for my truth. years ago, the internet told me james harden was the best offensive player in nba history, for example. all the internet. all the time. crickets now from that internet, btw.
AD is no where near Hakeem/TD in my opinion. Robinson was a badass and if AD can get to his level we are good.
lol, drob was indeed a badass, and AD has already had a better career, imo. as for the "nowhere near", i'm not sure we can adjudicate it if we tried. anyway, a simple reading of the AD thread supports my general point that it really won't matter what he does, people have decided where they fall and will just grasp for evidence that supports the existing position whilst putting forth impossible hypotheticals that could shift it.
