brooks was good until he poked the bear. i'm just laughing at the C Bags bump for derrick white. if he played anywhere else: zero votes.
hilarious but it's ok, let JJJ have the regular season award. AD has already proven this postseason why he's the real DPOY
I think they are trying to give the Lakers a title and keep AD with a chip on his shoulder. It's absolutely ridiculous, we were a top defense in the league because of him. Hope AD keeps the receipts Same for Giannis and loved his response.
You know, I was about to post here how I understand that AD didn't get any award here based on games played only, but luckily, before posting it I went and did a quick search on Basketball-Reference. Anthony Davis played 56 games and Jaren Jackson Jr. played 63. Difference is not that big really. I can understand Davis not getting an award due to lack of games played, but using that same logic, JJJ definitely doesn't deserve the DPOY either. Maybe we could argue someone else should've gotten it (Brook Lopez was a fantastic defender through the RS and played 78 games, for example), but if JJJ can get both the award and the all-defense selection, then Davis should be able to get in too. At this point, I feel pretty damn convinced that Anthony Davis is the best defensive player in the league. He's absolutely oppresive, and being in the perimeter hasn't even proved to be a weakness for him either. We're pretty damn scary on defense, and that's mostly thanks to this guy (as a matter of fact, last game I noticed how most of the easy GSW baskets came when he was out or when he was in the ground due to a hard layup attempt or something (making him unable to run back on time). Our team defense has proven to become the best in the league when we have him, and it's also shown to be average at best when he's not there. But as 432J, let JJJ have his award. Maybe after the ceremony or whatever he can celebrate while watching the next Lakers game from home.
couple things about cousins' comments that i'll interpret my way: people will run with "when his mind's right" but i don't think he means "when he cares", i think he means "when he's confident". contrary to most nba superstars, i think AD isn't a super confident guy, particularly on offense. as we've discussed, when his physical health isn't right, the first thing he loses is the jump shot, and when he doesn't have that, he's just a very good offensive player instead of a great one. but the defensive effort is always there (save for the beginning of the first russ season, which i think came after a very depressing training camp when everyone realized what a colossal mistake that trade was).
That is an interesting dynamic. When do you actually think AD and Lebron, individually, realized they had blown it with Russ??
The only issue with Anthony Davis is injuries, he's one the great talents to come through the League. Any drop off in his game, is always directly related to his injury situation. The bone spur thing was a scare, but it's looking like a fluke occurrence. I remain convinced that if Lebron and AD were healthy, we'd been in title contention in every season after the bubble, regardless of the supporting cast. Those two work magic together IMO.
Please be okay AD. Please. We pretty much will go as far as you take us. Get some rest, go crush it, and DOMINATE only the way you know how on Fri. We need you to help us advance!!!!
Why in the flying eff would the Warriors staff need to check on AD? Are they so scared they’re trying to take things into their own hands to artificially force him into concussion protocol?
