I do think the "1 out of 2 games" narrative is wrong, as defense is always there, ASIDE from game 2 v. GSW. So... if DPOY AD shows up in game 4 and AR/DAR are at 25/10 combined, we should win (as usual, assuming GSW doesn't go 50/70 on 3s or something).
AD will have to be agressive BUT .. careful tonight . Green whole defense on AD is based on colliding with the Brow and hopes calls get his way . Unfortunately I can see a scenario where AD gets 2 quick fouls tonight
i'm 100% certain gs's plan is to make a LOT of contact with AD on both ends, trying to both wear him down and get some fouls on him. after last game, you know the refs are going to let draymond just foul with impunity, so i expect a lower scoring output from AD at the very least. again, we're at home, so we need some of the support guys to step up. maybe reaves will make some shots for us to keep gs on their heels.
lol, but the fact that you have to take a beat to ensure this is parody... it's also impossible to deny that offense is half the game and that AD's offense is more affected by opposing defensive schemes than basically any other player on our roster. in other words, i find the effort narrative completely lacking.
You can label it as a “narrative,” but it’s actually what has taken place in reality. I’ve said all along that his defense has been spectacular. Points vs Memphis: 22, 13, 31, 12, 31, 16 Points vs GSW: 30, 11, 25 You going with the opposing team’s defensive scheme reverts back to what they were doing every other game? Okay, that’s fine. You can choose to believe that.
Or how about he just didn't have his legs in Game 2 after playing the entire second half in Game 1? He's a big guy. And unlike guys he is asked to be both a defensive anchor and be a force on offense. Very little play off when he's playing Let's see how this game goes as his minutes were a lot less. GSW is going to go small and run a lot of Steph PnR. Wonder if the Lakers can wear out steph and get going in the paint to counter
the effort narrative is stupid. that's my belief. he'll score if they don't double him and we make an effort to get him the ball. he'll defend either way.
I don't want to hear one word about AD being passive in the second half. I have no idea why, but it was clearly the plan not to go through him as the team made absolutely no effort to give him the ball. You may call it lack of leadership, but if the plan is clearly not to go through him and you have Bron orchestrating the game and preferring to go for long threes, there's only so much he can do. Anyway, GREAT WIN, GO LAKEWS!!!!!!
Great first half until someone else was ready to start scoring. Great D and stopped the best shooter on the planet in the biggest game of series. I'll take it.
He did it, two great performances in a row. 19 at the half then we just stopped going to him, Bron just chucked. But he was our whole defense again, our guys made it very difficult on him, but he showed up big.
