Good to see him aggressive early on and throughout the game. Definitely punished OKC for playing a 6'8 forward at center
I think we may be expecting too much out of AD. If he had these 38/15 performances every game he'd be the best player in the league. Lately I've accepted that he's probably a Top 10-15 player, at best. He's too inconsistent to crack Top 10, though I think his consistency on the defensive end is often underappreciated. If bubble AD shows up in the playoffs though, he'll be back to being regarded as a Top 3 player. Then another injury in November and everyone will get frustrated again lol
Fantastic game. Mainly it was the mentality he came out with, attacking right away, going after offensive boards, challenging shots on the other end. Came out like we needed to win this game, and then closed in the 4th the same way. That’s all I ever ask of AD, play like you know you’re as good as you are.
We'll see. Giannis .... soon. Has done well against him intermittently. Understandably. Physical beast.
If we do clinch the 8th seed, I’m really interested to see him up against The Joker. He dominated him way back in the Bubble, but a lot has happened since then and we had two other effective bigs in Dwight and JaVale.
Cookie states my thoughts pretty much spot on. I look at AD as the most skilled player every time he is on the court so I do expect more from him than anyone else. I do not believe that is unfair. The most talented player making a fortune, just come mentally prepared every game. When he wants to he can explode and dominate like no one else. I do not believe it is injuries holding him back one game and not the next. I want dominate AD a high percentage of the time.
Not nearly good enough. I know Bron is back so that takes some adjustment, but when Vuc went out the game got very simple for him.
Team needs to figure out how to get him the ball on the move more. Double teams consistently take him out and he's not a playmaker with the ball.
I checked the PBP, and when AD was taking shots, the Lakers were winning, and when he wasn't, the Lakers got blown out. Sounds like some dumb a** needs to get him more shots. 1Q: AD takes 3 shots (goes 2-3) and gets 3 FT's (2-3), Lakers lead by 3 at 6:32. AD doesn't get any more shots or FT's, Lakers slip by 1 pt but still lead by 2 at 2:30 when AD goes to the bench. 1Q/2Q: Without AD, Lakers get blown out by 12 pts until AD comes back in at 8:59. 2Q: AD makes 1 dunk, Lakers end 2Q down by 8. 3Q: AD gets no shots for the 1st 6+ minutes, Lakers get blown out by 12 more points to go down by 20. AD gets 4 shots (goes 3-4) and 1 FT (0-1), Lakers gain back 8 pts, to be down by 12 when he goes out near the end of 3Q. 4Q: Ham doesn't play AD for 5+ min of the 4th, Lakers lose by 6 more and are down by 18 when AD comes in at 6:47. With AD, Lakers make up 8 pts to be down by 10 when AD goes out near the end of the game. Had a chance of coming back all the way if Ham had re-inserted AD earlier and/or gotten him more shots. Final +/- AD +7, Lakers without AD -17 When AD gets shots +13, when AD doesn't get shots -23
Idk..He had 5 fouls in the 3rd quarter. The real problem in that game, was too many careless turnovers, and terrible transition defense. We were pretty bad at keeping their guards out of the lane too.
s***ty plays called this AD at the top of the key play has to go same usual no creativity nothing new just cluttered lanes
