It's moot. He will be 32 or some such and in the street clothes most of the time. But that defense, though...
Too bad peeps here that are so annoyed with him when he’s not being Super AD in every game can’t “mute” him or something like here on LB.
Stop, LT. He had a lousy start and end to the last game. It, reportedly, bothered him. You'd expect him to come out guns blazing. He didn't. He just doesn't have it. He is an Odom, mentality wise, which is amazing for a 2, but not 1.
What’s the difference with AD on this team and a young talent and picks we trade him for? If the past 3 years are any indication, nothing, we’ll still struggle to make the playoffs but with less disappointments because we have less expectations not having a “superstar” we can’t depend on.
We would need comparable championship level BIG man talent to replace him with. Who you got in your sights?? That’s how I look at it. Every comparable BIG is locked up with their own team’s max contract and there’s only several players of that quality in the league.
Like f****** who? Same thing I said to Zen. It HAS to be a big if you want to win a championship again. Other top teams have BIGS we can’t run scrub bigs at. To stick next to old man LeBron and until you think you have someone better post LeBron. No one answers the question. Manage your emotions better?
1000 year old lebron, myles turner, buddy hield, vucevic, and derozan...is a .500 team (at best) that can't guard anyone. i'm sure everyone would be thrilled with it! i'll roll with ben wallace simmons, who plays defense like both but averages as many points as their best years combined. not good enough for the lakers, of course, but pretty decent for every other team across the entirety of league history.
Wow. You just don't get it... or don't want to get it. We are not winning s*** with AD as the central piece. Nor is it enjoyable to watch 50% of the time (injuries and not giving a s*** from AD). We will lose him for nothing and won't have anyone to replace him with using his cap space. So... picks is the only way. Hence trading him is a must.
Wow. You just don't get it... or don't want to get it. We are not winning s*** with what we get in trade for AD as the central piece. Nor is it enjoyable to watch 50% of the time (inexperienced and untalented players trying to win nba games). We will attempt to build for 7 years before realizing that we need to trade everything we've acquired for another AD, if one is even available. Hence not trading him is a no-brainer.
So... let me get this straight.. We both agree on: I say: You say: Is that what you are saying? --- I don't understand the 7 years of rebuild. I enjoyed the young guys ENDLESSLY more than I am going to enjoy AD as he is now in the next 3 - 4 years before he retires, surrounded by MLE people. So, this: is probably where most of us for trading AD disagree with you. Vehemently.
Nope. I am ready for a rebuild. Don't need a Shaq to win now. Fine with a bunch of Austins (and hopefully more) running together trying to get to that next stage and then trading them for the next AD (who is not a wuss and a mental midget).
Let's say Doncic would entertain the idea to join the Lakers . Would he prefer to team up with an aging and injury prone AD or to join a roster with some young talents and flexibility to acquire a "better "sidekick ? It's better to suck for some years in the NBA than being average ( at best) as we are for a couple of years with 2 injury prone stars -
