in order for there to be any chance of the lakers making the play-in game and/or doing something in the playoffs, this is how AD needs to play on a consistent basis
Amazing game from AD - and we needed it. On the road, down 27...and he refused to quit. I love when AD plays like this
We desperately needed "Beast Mode" AD to show up today, and it only intensified when the entire team's outside shooting in the first 24 minutes looked like they were drunk: shots not just missed, but CLANKED. They must've been tight, too "up" for the game. In the 2nd half, they decided to have fun, and killed the Mavs. It was a thing of beauty and joy to behold forever. Beast Mode AD is a Top 3 Player in the Association. Glad he was there.
I swear, sometimes it's like AD flips a switch, the light bulb goes on, and he's just like "I'm AD - these guys cannot do anything to stop me," and then he goes into complete domination mode on both ends. He's back.
outstanding game from AD. like that ham went to him on offense right after halftime to make a point. later, the mavs were having to double him on the catch, which was allowing us to clear the weakside a bit and let our drivers find lanes even when shots weren't falling.
We need this AD the rest of the season. We can't afford to have him sleep walk through games, we need him dominant out there.
i don't think he sleepwalks as much as folks say. i think it was doris burke pointing out that everyone was fussing about his 5 FGAs, but we don't always need him to be a scorer. against dallas, we did, and so he did. it's very rare that he doesn't show up and defend and rebound, which we need from him every night.
I think you're right. But if AD really works JJ, esp down low, he could get JJ in foul trouble early. JJ fouls a lot. Pump fakes, AD!
OK. No pressure AD, but it's on you indefinitely. If we have the AD from the Mavs game or the pre-injury AD, we can stay afloat for a couple weeks. AD Vando Brown Beasley DLO That's good enough to not drop out of this thing, but AD has to be *that* guy and we can't overload him to the point of injury... again.
yes, and no. i worry more about AD playing against adams because he's just so incredibly physical and strong. the reason AD doesn't like playing center is that keeping a guy like adams off the glass takes a tremendous amount of energy, and when you're being asked to score 30 on top of that...just not happening.
I don't remember AD trying to keep Adams off the glass in previous meetings. But that's a valid point. What I'm referring to is Adams is much less agile than Jackson. AD can post Adams in the mid post, or face up and go right around him. Jackson has great footwork and is as active as AD if not more so, plus Jackson is a pogo stick. I think AD works harder in the post trying to score over Jackson.
lol, might be part of the problem! also, with adams out, it means jackson has to attend to AD primarily and can play less center field. we have the same issue on the other end. jjj is kind of AD-lite. back when everyone was wanting to trade AD, i said he was someone i'd consider taking back for that reason. really defensively versatile. AD will have his hands full. as will the whole team. memphis just killed denver last time out.
