I'm far from a saint, but this discussion isn't good for keeping female Laker fans around. Let's keep it on AD.
I removed a few posts in here. I know you all meant no intentional harm, but female fans shouldn’t need to worry about being discussed in forums like this. We want LB to be inclusive and welcoming for all Lakers fans, so let’s keep discussions away from talking about member’s looks. -Barnstable
I haven't watched Schroder much or that closely. Those who have, how do you think he and AD will mesh when LeBron is sitting?
I saw him a lot here in OKC. He can create his own shot, so getting to the rim and feeding AD will be a regular occurrence. He can hit the 3, fast, fearless, but not the defender I expected (not a positive in that regard). But.... AD can help him there. Schroder shoukd be funneling his man into AD. I'm not worried about their games meshing at all.
Typically yes. He plays some of that hassling KCP (but with less physicality and efficacy), Rondo (but with more consistent effort when Rondo is in non-playoff mode), Green (but with less needless fouls created). See him more as a one on one defender (who will get burned at times) rather than team defender who will go for steals to put pressure on the opposition (It would be fun to see him and KCP getting steals and sprinting for fastbreak layups, dunks and the occasional three.)
IIRC a 2 + 1 gives him the absolute max money as he would have 10 years of service but I know he wants to stagger his contract with Lebron's tenure (who has a 1+1 remaining). AD at crossroads but I hope he fully commits
Woj is just looking for clicks. AD is probably waiting to see what KCP needs, etc before locking in. I think of this as a team friendly approach IMO.
It's not overpaying if you are winning titles. Lakers are sitting in prime position right now. They replaced Rondo with a player in his prime who can legitimately be a 3rd scorer night in and night out. They have 9.3 mil per for a really good player if they can find who they want. They can bring back some guys who contributed greatly in the title run. Lakers have a shot at getting younger and better than last year. The key this coming season is playing Lebron below 30 min a game. The Lakers need to do what Pop did in San Antonio in 2014. No one played more than 29 minutes on that team and they went on to destroy everyone that year. It was one of the best coaching jobs I have seen. Lakers do that with this team coming up, the Lakers will win another title barring any significant injuries.
it's good that he's not taking meetings or anything. if this was a real story, FA would be completely held up until AD made his choice, but it sounds like everyone is operating as if he's staying.
The only way he doesn't stay is if we sign Shannon Brown and he proceeds to sleep with his girlfriend.
The leading theory is that AD via Klutch wants to keep Lakers accountable for offseason moves. Namely KCP.
