Hope not. Hopefully we can find another star. But I wouldn't blame him if he commits to only 2. IIRC that type of short term deal also puts him line for the biggest payday available if he signs an extension.
Yeah definitely expect the contract which allows him to get to Max the quickest. Plus he gave up that 4 or 5M trade penalty to allow more money for the team to chase Snake and fill out the team. Though it always seemed hypocritical to me if he would have taken it. They didn't want to trade him, he forced them to. Why should they pay a penalty adding insult to injury?
lebron started a trend of megastars keeping short contracts in order to wield power within the organization, so it wouldn't be surprising if AD opted for a two year deal with a player option or something. then again, you always want some protection against injury as the player, i'd think, and AD hasn't been an iron man.
Besides the Lakers dominating the news, America's (other) team is in the news a lot right now for Dak's injury. I wonder if that will have any influence over player contracts in the NBA?
well, the nfl was already precarious with its partial/non-guarantees. AD has already made a ton of money, though, so i expect him to opt for short-term deals so the lakers can't sit on laurels. though the lakers are one of the least likely franchises to do this. you have to watch out for this kind of crap in sac, NO, etc.--which is why everyone wants out of those places. chicken/egg situation.
Rich Paul manages AD, so we know the deal will suit AD more than the Lakers. But at least Klutch has had a role in at least one Laker championship, and counting
So is he gonna sign 2+1 deal or 3+1 deal? I think anything less and he'll be giving the media something to talk about... I'd rather he signs the 2+1 at a minimum so he lines up with Bron.
Rich Paul is in the business of getting his clients paid as well as, if possible, helping LeBron get a ring. AD already gave up some money so the Lakers could clear cap for Kawhi so unless the Lakers have a plan that makes sense for AD to take a paycut, I don't see why he should. IMO, a 2+1 so he can qualify for the supermax and it also aligns with LeBron's final year as well. I doubt LeBron leaves but it would be ideal for both parties to know what the plan is going forward just so the Lakers aren't put in a position where they have to start getting desperate and sign terrible players to horrible contracts. Plus, LeBron knows he can't treat the Lakers dirty like that... Lakers fans will remember any b/s that goes on.
pffffttt...i just watched 158 minutes of ingram/ball/zo highlights, supplemented by footage of jv guys that might be available for our picks in 4 years. what's one conference finals game-winning three vs. 6 potential future game-winners? I ASK YOU THIS, SIR!
Dude never came back did he? Must have resigned himself to Reddit. LG wasn't putting up with his whack AD value theories either by own admission.
I hope both sentient and Vash can enjoy this title and maybe even change their minds for the first time in their lives
Vash seems to have not even posted on LG anymore, last time I looked, once the season was suspended in March. Man before all that s*** happened with Magic he was one of my favorite posters EVER! Was so happy when he came back after Jim and Mitch were ousted.
lol, ok. if AD joins one of the teams with space right now, he'll deserve everything he gets. he won't.
