AD getting in the DPOY Conversation. He deserves the award. Sucks that he was left out of being a MVP finalist. Hope it fires him up for the playoffs
Started off the game so soft I couldn't believe he wasn't butter. Improved and showed some exciting plays besides joining in with Lebron for our four free throw thuds at a vital time.
This dude AD is not getting enough bashing. 8/24 from the field (sorry but this is not the 8/24 Kobe wanted) -20 when he was on the court. Once again, AD gets saved by the free throws. He was horrible offensively and had at least 5 baskets that were basically free because LeBron found him wide open under the basket. Seriously, what is wrong with AD? Does he truly think him standing in the perimeter is what we need? Did the Lakers really trade Ingram, Ball, Hart, and a top pick in the draft for someone who just wants to sit at the three point line? 39 minutes and I couldn't find a single minute where AD truly dominated. And only 2 points in the fourth quarter? Don't ever compare AD to KAJ again...
He was pretty terrible tonight. Awful shooting. Passive much of the time. This version of Bubble AD isn't going to win a thing this year. Honestly if he doesn't step up we are looking at a first round loss and that is going to be severely embarrassing. I don't recognize this AD at all.
He keeps disappearing down the stretch and that's got to stop. He's way too in love with his three point shot and jumpers. He went on a great run primarily running pick and roll with LeBron. We need more of that and way more dominance in the paint on both ends.
Thank you Elgin. He and Lebron doing pick and roll looked unstoppable. I've been asking where that is all year. Some folks surmised that maybe they didn't want to show too much of that before the playoffs. But really they should be doing 10 pick and roll plays minimum per game. Minimum! Instead we did it a few times then went away from it. I don't get our offense.
My instinct is to come in here and defend him. Say it’s just one game, we can’t use that to say he’s soft. He’s actually been proficient from the perimeter and things will open up when he finds his rhythm. But I can’t say that earnestly. The two big missed free throws were really disappointing considering he’s usually money from there. So whether it’s accurate or not, that really reinforces the idea that he just mentally wasn’t up for the big moment. And the reality is that he hasn’t been in position to demonstrate that he has what it takes in big moments. That’s not his fault, NOLA never really have him the opportunity. But I’m not gonna defend him. He needs to prove that he’s a championship caliber superstar, one of the most dominant players in the world. And he has to prove it soon.
Agreed Helljumper. I'm thankful to have him obviously. He's a tremendous talent, and the best big in the game. But he's had two single digit scoring outings in the bubble and then tonight was not good. I'm worried. I've never seen him this passive before and it's starting to truly bug me. He's not showing that heart that you need to win it all.
Yeah but I guess why I’m not full panicking yet is because I think he HAS shown that heart to us in the regular season. He was a monster and on multiple occasions he came up huge on both ends of the floor for us in big moments against quality teams. So I think this is a consequence of our bubble games not having meant anything so far, and so the sudden ramp up to playoff intensity is just coming at a weird pace. And I’m hopeful that now this loss will be a slap in the face for him and Bron to take it to the next level. But... I can’t shake the possibility that MAYBE this is who he is in crunch time, and that I just too much stock into what he had demonstrated in the regular season.
Nah , he was in a good rythm with his outside shot before the rona and now he can't hit one ... Same thing happened during the 1st couple of months of the season . No need to over analyse here
I don't get our offense either. Pick and roll should definitely be a big part of our strategy. Hopefully adjustments are made.
