I wonder why no one is talking 3-team deals? What about something like this? Pelicans get Vucevic, Ingram, Kuz and a first Orlando gets Ball, Zubac and Beasley Lakers get Davis
I would be thoroughly impressed if mgmt. can hold onto Zo and maybe BI....Kuz has to go its obvious he has the most mature gm right now....I wouldn't mind seeing this pkg going out Kuz/Kcp/Wagner/3 1st, Zu too if he's required....I'm only holding on to BI as per Savory to trade for something else later, I'm hardly a Zo fan but I know from seeing him play at high lvl he will figure it out how to play with stars.
Of course it will come at a hefty cost. This is Anthony Davis. If you want him or Giannis or a similar player (and those are the best young players in the NBA together with Kawhi) - you have to give a lot. We understand that.
Holy smokes, I woke up today to this? Wowza! Bring on AD. Whatever it takes. We do have 5 young guys that they can choose among. Personally I would be bummed if we gave up Ball as I think he's our best fit for the future. I feel like they could have BI, Kuzma and Zu and a pick and leave us Ball and Hart. But if it takes Zo to get AD then so be it. I'd rather have AD and Lebron than any combo of our young guys and NOT AD.
If its not done this week, I think the weekend we’ll start hearing AD will only resign with Lakers... though we’ve heard this story before. But hey, at least they are open to trading with us! Besides Lebron, you can have anyone NO.
The problem is that a 3-team deal adds complexity when it would be simpler to just do a direct deal. Also, commenting on other posts... I would trade all the youngsters for AD and not have a moment's pause. Seriously. We need Vas to give us a breakdown of what the Lakers would need to give up to make the salaries work.
Problem may be matching salaries/roster spots. We may need another team to help accommodate a deal. Not that Davis isn't worth 5-6 players, but there are rules of engagement.
If we can somehow, magically "save" ZO, that would be awesome. Please make it happen soon, i can't deal with preasure lately...
Getting rid of Pope would be $12MM toward Davis... that certainly helps but that isn't half I believe. To the others not wanting to trade Zo... Look, I really like Zo but this is freakin' Anthony Davis we're talking about. Zo with his horrendous shooting, FT% and non-alpha-ness... to quote the GOAT:
Zo should not be a dealbreaker, but he should be a priority to TRY and keep out of the deal. I would say the same for Kuz due to the fit, but I can't imagine the Pels taking a package without him. Ultimately, if we can keep 1 of Zo/Kuz/BI AND Hart, then that's a helluva deal!
