AD is dumb AF...doesn't take an off-season to realize Pelicans team are gona stay relatively the same because of his contract and Holiday and then eventual resigning of Mirotic. They're capped out for forseable future and to top it off they dont draft well either, outside of Davis they dont have anyone to build off of cause they either trade away their 1st rd picks or dont actually pick anyone worthwhile
hard to see anyone outbidding the C Bags but at least from his comments it seems like he's a gonner. he'd be incredibly stupid to stay with a franchise that has proven incapable of surrounding him with talent
honestly, with lonzo's injury, an AD for lonzo/ingram/beasley/stephenson/2 1sts starts to make more sense pre-deadline. gives davis a shot at the playoffs this year. lonzo being hurt helps the NO tank, and they can sell off holiday and mirotic to the highest draft pick bidders and move forward. davis is gone. the questions are just when, where to, and what for. i'd like to see the lakers make a godfather offer in the coming weeks. of course, if they're wise, we won't hear about it, as it could kill morale in the middle of a playoff race. but if i'm rob and magic, i'm putting everything on the table and telling them that less will be on the table in july.
pelicans would be smarter to ask for kuzma either in addition to or in place of ingram...ingram isnt shaping up to be a star n lotta execs dont see him in a positive light
He is not dumb as f***. He needs to not demand s*** and leave in 2020. That's it. Dealing with these pieces of s*** owners and the league and their collusion not to let the Lakers be the Lakers is a major issue. Play one more year and leave in 2020 for the Lakers. That's it.
you do realize la might not have cap space by then? and if we gona throw away another yr just to maintain cap for him it'll be another crap yr
Not likely. Klay is not leaving GS. Kawhi is not likely coming to the Lakers, if he does, then we are good. But not likely. I'm thinking of the future, not Lebron James. Besides, Lebron signed a 4 year deal, that means he would have 2 years to play with AD and win titles and the younger guys either blow up or the Lakers trade them for other players who can contribute.
Where do we think Kawhi is ending up? I can’t imagine he stays in Toronto, and I certainly don’t buy any of this Clippers nonsense.
My prediction is Jerry West gets his last big pick up. He goes to the Clippers or stays in Toronto if they make it to the finals.
New Orleans will NEVER trade him to LA if he says he wants to go to LA. PLUS, the Lakers do not have a package that would work anyway. All the young players put together aren't worth AD. Even if Kuzma was in the package. He needs to not talk, play the contract out and avoid any issues with PR or aholes sabotaging his path to the Lakers.
im not concerned bout appeasing james, if we dont get a max fa this summer n maginka tries to sell us 2020 plan its going to be disappointing n sad.....whose to say AD doesnt get traded somewhere n turns into another paula situation
right. odd that ox of all people would think waiting it out was a good idea after the paul george situation. if we don't have the assets to trade for davis, then i'm pretty sure he'll never play here.
I have no idea how AD gets here, but I do hope we’ve learned lessons from the PG and Kawhi situations.
I do not want to wait. But the PG and AD situations are different. AD has Lebron's guy running things. Anyone who requests a trade seems to create too much headache in the situation. I do not care for Lebron much, maybe a lot of it is tied to that. I want AD. Even if Lebron sucks by the time AD gets here. He will be in his prime and getting Lebron to get to AD, even if it means Lebron isnt Lebron anymore is a win. Then the Lakers can focus on building the team from there with a Prime AD and likely and All-Star Kyle Kuzma.
sure, but does davis really want to sit in that situation for another year? the fear is that boston (or someone else) moves for him this summer (very likely), he's happy there, and we're stuck with lebron and a THIRD year of rentals.
I agree. This is the real threat. If AD turns down the super-max, that all but guarantees he's gone which means N.O. is going to ship him out, likely before the season starts. So Boston comes in with assets (better ones than ours it seems like at this point) and they are in the East. Does AD leave a team of Kyrie, Hayward, and likely one of Tatum or Brown? I mean, PG stayed in OKC with the quintessential stat stuffing superstar in Westbrook. I'm not willing to risk him going someplace for a whole season; a place that will likely only trade for him if they have some pieces in place to make a run with him that year (ie Thunder with PG and Toronto with Kawhi).AD+Kuz+older Lebron isn't going to be enough. We need to make the move now and then hope to land someone like Middleton in the offseason to compliment LBJ and AD. IF we can somehow land him without giving up either Kuzma or Ingram, then all the better.
