I guess you’re ok with mediocrity, we saw what he can do, he’s not doing it

    yep.

btw, if AD played for some other team and averaged 10ppg, he'd still be a max player because he'd have 4 dpoy awards by now. he'd be prime ben wallace instead of prime ben wallace plus 25ppg and demanding a double team on offense.

LOL you cherry pick some game in NO when he hit 53 pts with still a top player Rondo feeding him the ball, no double teams I think in those highlights he had to King Kong through .... against scrub Suns big men, exhibiting not one thing on offense that he can't still do in 2023 with some space to operate? And say cut his pay in half because you allege he's a shell of himself now?

It's true all you care about is scoring and expect monster games every night. With the way our team shoots and he gets the paint packed and double teamed, with seems like, and you've been vocal from the start in agreement, not the sharpest tool in the shed scheming our offense and making in game adjustments to help AD. On TOP of being the best defensive center in the game consistently.

You could have at least pulled up his career stats to verify your point that he's half the player he used to be. Oh WAIT never mind.

I’m not hating just stating that a player scoring less than 20 in most games is playing mediocre

I guess our definitions of mediocrity are very different, but agree to disagree.

I sometimes forget even Kobe had his fair share of constant critics, even during his prime. I gues I enjoy rooting for my favorite team differently.

On another note, I hope once our perimeter defenders are back Ham figures out a way to lessen AD's burden on D and involve him more on O. It could do wonders for this team IMO.

Nice effort, I don’t read your long posts though, :Laugh:you started this conversation but did not count the number of games he wasn’t dominant? that’s the whole point of my original post, a prediction based on previous games:ADeyesonyouleft:

You're in dangerously close territory with your irrational posts on AD ..... to Slick for 2 seasons blaming everything we saw nightly about the "current" state of Westbrick's game on AD and LeBron not having played together enough games ..... even to this day with him doing the same things on the Clippers. Do you really want to go THERE!?

    :Kobe Snickering:

No offense of course to Slick as we've made our peace .... just sayin'.

The only problem there is they're all perimeter defenders. We only have one post defender on the entire roster. Bron and Rui can help in a pinch in very select circumstances, but I don't want Bron in year 21 banging against those guys.

i think he means better containment=fewer plays where AD has to crisscross the floor three times just to prevent a dunk.

I do wish he would seem to have more fire against these matchups against other bigs. Lebron clearly gets up for matchups against Bane, KD, etc and it's frustrating to see AD at times get bulldozed by dudes like Sabonis, or KAT a a few years ago when I've seen with my own eyes that he's better than these guys and has made dudes like them look like Drexler vs Jordan.

Maybe it's all the nagging injuries but I don't think it's all team makeup and play design with some of this.

Exactly what I meant. A huge part of why AD is such a great defender is his help defense, but he shouldn't be forced to do as much as he has in this department.

I can get frustrated at times with Anthony, but I also consider the context, of how his role has changed here too. AD is a power forward, and we've been determined to turn him into a center for some reason.

"AD needs to play the 5!!, "That's our best path to a Championship ". That was the prevalent opinion going around on this board, after the Championship.

I continue to ask the simple question..why? Why did we have to go away, from what actually helped bring the title home? We flanked AD with two veterans at 5, (Javale and Dwight) that s*** worked. I don't understand why that formula had to change.

The media decided that AD needed to play 5 full-time, because of our dominant title run in the bubble. Our fans, and for some reason, our front office wholeheartedly agreed with that sentiment. I still don't think, that it's this great idea, that it was made out to be.

Yes..he's still the best small ball 5 in the game IMO. Yet this doesn't mean that he needs to be exclusively a 5. Look at the numbers.

The Championship team during the playoffs AD avg 28pts, 9rebs, 1.4 blks
Last season playoffs he avg 23pts, 12 rebs and 3blks per game. He upped the rebounds and blocks significantly. That's what we wanted right? Bigman stuff boards and blocks. The scoring went down, so that means that he fell off though? It's not a fair assessment IMO. Now we ask the dude, to be basically our entire defense. Rebound, block shots at an elite level, and score at an elite level, playing out of position at 5.

It shouldn't be surprising that he's missed more games, and been banged up more, since we made this great move to full-time 5 IMO. He's a power forward not a center. Welp..we went out and got him two bigs this season!! Yeah...two more power forwards, and he's more of a physical player, than either of them too! SMH
