DJ can't be aggregated with other players...he can only be traded by himself. But NY can work around that...DJ for AD straight up... Then aggregate the kiddies and other contracts plus picks for any contract the Pels want to dump (ie Moore or Hill). It would be seen as one big trade, but really it's multiple trades between the same teams.

However, that will leak into their 2max capspace this coming summer...but if AD is already sitting there, Ky doesn't need KD to join him.

I personally ain't worried about Boston...NY is the one that could sneak AD away from us now.

That's a good point about Zion, but if you could trade that would-be pick now for a definite acquisition of AD wouldn't that be worth the gamble for NY?

Thanks for clearing that DJ trade situation up. Yeah, they definitely worry me. Getting Dennis Smith makes Frank Ntilikina expendable now. So frank, Knox, Mitchell Robinson, Hezonja, the pick they have..those are all nice pieces if NO is focused on just trading AD somewhere but the Lakers and the west.

^^ only if they're sure a superstar is coming (KD, Kyrie, Kawhi). If not, AD will bolt and they're stuck with nothing.

I don’t see a NY package being very attractive to NO. The pick has potential value, but the rest is expiring contracts and a bunch of who is that?

^^^Yeah, but just like Uncle Dennis has Kawhi’s ear, I'm sure AD's old man has his.

Don't get me wrong...I still believe we're the favorite to land him (one way or another), but NY imo is our only threat.

This is gonna be a pretty piss poor example here, but I have Kevin Knox on my fantasy team (lol) and that kid puts up very good numbers. If they're just focused on getting AD out of there, wouldn't he be a good piece to get back along with a potential pick? With AD gone, they're probably going to tank the rest of the season in order to get a better shot with their own pick. Ntilikina becomes their starter, Jordan is the place holder at center for the rest of the season until he expires as well as Matthews. Robinson and Hezonja are also there to help them fill out spots as they build through the draft. I hope I'm completely wrong here, I really do, but new York is said to be a team Davis would prefer to be on along with the Lakers.

If he’s concerned with winning and legacy, team management and ownership have to play a role.

NY is a mess and has been for 20 years. It would not be a very smart move

    Per Brad Turner @ LATimes:

Maybe the hold up is Zo. And that is why there were rumors to gauge what type of interest other teams have in Jrue.

A backcourt of Jrue and Ball would be really good tho. BBBut of course, Zo's camp doesnt see it that way.

Btw, AD is going to be speaking to the media for the first time today...stay tuned.

BBB simply just doesn't want to get out of LA. That's it. It's a bull*** excuse that Zo thinks Jrue is a PG.

It would seem that way. In an ideal scenario, Boston trades away Tatum, Smart and picks for AD. Then Kyrie bolts to the Lakers anyway leaving AD to try and lead a resigned Rozier, and old Horford and a busted up Hayward to the Finals. He then gets ousted by the Sixers and leaves to come to the Laker in 2020 to join Lebron, Kyrie, Kuzma and Hart.

If one of the trade offers the Lakers gave the Pelicans was a package of Ball, Ingram, Kuz, Zubac and a first round pick.... I wouldn’t even know what the other 4 trade scenarios would be lol.

At this point if the Pelicans don’t take that deal from us, I don’t see how we get AD. We have nothing else to offer to sweeten the deal... unless we get a 3rd team involved and get them some players they would actually want.

Maybe we're helping grease the wheels on getting them future picks for their expirings (Niko/Jules/Payton) as well.

Maybe they also want to unload Moore's contract and we're trying to find a taker, if we're not willing to take it on ourselves.

Also there's the whole Zo's camp don't want to play for Nawlins thing...

I'm sure the other packages consider as much, but since it involves other teams, we're not going to release that info to our beat writers.

Dealing with Pelicans for AD is like trying to impress the hot chick with a brand new ferrari, a house on the beach, etc. but she still stick her nose up to you waiting for an even richer dude who may or may not beat the offer. I hope our ferrari (Ingram,Ball) gets even shinner/flashier then they get pulled off the table when the older rich geezer doesn't come through hahaa
