See, this is what AD needs to do; take the Kyrie approach, my guy; "I don't know anybody s***." Be assertive.

I am not sure why everyone is so excited about the Boston tweets. Boston can't do s*** right now anyways. The worry right now is the NBA colluding to not let the trade go down. That is the pressure the media needs to put on that f*** face in San Antonio and the NBA league office. That is what the media needs to tweet about relentlessly.

ok NO just take the lakers offer already

the only other option is wait until the summer and see what boston offers but why would boston trade for AD knowing he wants to play in LA? and especially with kyrie most likely leaving. there's no way they trade everyone for AD under those circumstances

They can say they will offer Tatum in the summer which will cause NOP to delay this until then.

AD being a rental, Kyrie possibly out too. Does boston want to give up their only remaining possible allstar in Tatum? Probably not, Boston deal off table then.

Knicks might have just helped us out here by opening up two max slots. Gives Kyrie an option to team up with KD or Butler there. Wow.

If Davis sticks to his plan (Lakers only) and is still adamant about it in the summer, we'll get him for much less than 5 of our kids. NO better realize this.

    Thx...I guess...

Remember before the trade demand when AD was going to be available for trade after he turned down the supermax this summer?

The plan was to trade for him...after we took in a max free agent with our cap space:

Any trade for AD to us will have him waive his 15%trade kicker...so if we trade for him now, we need a minimum of 20.3m in salary and if we trade for him in the summer we need a minimum of 21.6m in salary.

A package now involving Zo and Kcp (with a 15% trade kicker initiated) gives us enough salary for a trade before the deadline where we at least can spare BI or some other kiddies using the expiring contracts we have on our books, like Kcp. The "downside" for an AD trade right now is that we cut into our cap space this summer so a 30%max player will have to take a "paycut" of 30.5m vs getting his true max of 32.7m.

If we trade for AD during the summer, we can still spare some of our kiddies even tho our expiring contracts, like Kcp & Lance, won't no longer be on the books. We would just use our capspace to take on nearly all or a portion of AD's 27.1m deal. However, if we use our capspace to sign a 30%max player like Kawhi to his true max of 32.7m FIRST and then pivot to an AD deal, then our books would look like this:

    Bron: 37.4
    Kawhi or another 30%max: 32.7
    Zo: 8.7
    BI: 7.3
    DeadDengcap: 5
    Moe 2.1
    Kuz: 2
    Hart: 1.9
    Zu RFA caphold: 1.9
    Bonga: 1.4
    Svi's non-guaranteed: 1.4
Incomplete roster charge of 2: 1.8
= 103.6m team salary (5.4m in cap space)

We then use the 5.4m we have in cap to absorb some of AD's 27.1m and then his incoming salary reflects as 21.7m. So we would need a minimum of 16.7m in outgoing salary. For example, Zo, Kuz, Hart, Moe, Svi, and Bonga aggregate to 17.5m...meanimg we would have enough salary to trade for AD and still spare BI and Zu (RFA who we can match) all while maxing out Kawhi.

Folks if we don't trade for AD now, then that is one hell of a contingency to fall back on in the summer.

And why would NO suddenly trade with us even if we took Zo or BI out of the package during the summer?

I'm convinced the league is trying to f*** us and someone needs to stick a giant telephone phone up their a**. And that's the only proof right now that we can likely find. Everything else is a jerk off.

I don't think it's the Clippers. I don't think he's been linked there; NYK is going after him and KD; that's why the move on NY's part made sense with Kristaps; they also extracted 2 1st round picks out of it.

Whether or not they're successful remains to be seen; and I do agree that the Lakers are possible, too.

You know I have this crazy worry that New York will try to trade for Davis before the deadline with a deal centered around that pick they have, Knox, Ntilikina, and Jordan to make salaries match. They get Davis now, they get Kyrie in the summer and still have an additional free agent spot for KD.

They basically would have taken all the players we would've tried to get this summer. They would be a dangerous big 3 in the east.

Im not sure they would trade Zion for AD. Any other pick won't get it done in my mind. They positioned themselves nicely... but can end up with nothing. Nice gamble though (only bad thing is they helped freakin Cuban).
