Man... do you honestly feel that you when you need a bucket (and there are MANY MANY instances like this in playoffs) you can just give him the ball and say ... go get a bucket man.

No. That's the problem. Your star should be able to do that. Can't be Bill Russel. Not in this age. Need to be able to lead the offense too, otherwise we have to get an extremely gifted scorer next to him, a-la Booker. That will probably cost, and Bookers do not usually play any D.

i know nobody wants to hear it, but AD's actually done just that (score big buckets late in games), many times, including recently.

but yes, you have to pair him with a perimeter scorer if you want to contend.

anyway, it's super tiresome that every single game is a referendum on the guy's entire career. it's silliness. was he a non-star when he went for 40 in game 1?

and being bill russell is great. we're in the conference finals because AD is a monster on defense. hell, we only made the play-in because AD is a monster on defense.

Not a referendum. Just some sort of a disappointment. I wish he had Pau's skillset on O.... But then again, that would probably make him the best big men since Tim/Hakeem.

Nah man. That's not on AD. I am pretty sure it's not "AD can't handle Jokic, let's help him" plan. That's just hatin....

Because refs wistle crap and because this allows AD to roam. Not because AD can't defend him 1-1. Because others can't defend the rim when Jokic goes to perimeter.

Defense has been good Even Russell had trouble with a guy like Wilt.

I mean Jokic was having 40 point trible doubles. Ok offense though he was bad: he missed a ton of "AD" shots. It is what it is. Lets see what happens in LA. This was the first game that bogh he and Lebron were bad in a game the Lakers had a chance and was a critical must win type of game

ok sure. i mean its not like jokic didn't have a triple double at half time of gm 1 prior to the strategy change

Wish he passed that one to Reaves..

Oh well, I think we take care of business at home. It's gonna be really tough to win 1 in Denver though

Abysmal night for AD on offense. He was excellent on D, which has been his saving grace. And yeah, he scored 40 the first game. But the Jeckyl and Hyde alternating thing on offense is hard to witness. He didn't just score a low amount tonight, he shot a woeful 27%. He can't do that and have an expectation of winning the game. The threes were so ill advised at the end as well. I mean at least he hit one unlike Lebron but still. Make one and count your blessings, don't try to repeat it two more times when we are desperate for a score.

Yea. I've seen this type of offensive game from him before. He gets decent looks, but it's as if he's not sure if he wants to bank or swish, and it's out of rhythm. Maddening. His footwork to get a better look at the rim is out of rhythm or he doesn't even try a move. I can see ONE 3FGA a game, but not more. There are times when he'll get the ball deep in the paint and his rhythm's off, the D times it and blocks his shot. It's as if he's maybe too jacked-up? I don't know. The touch isn't there on his shots. And don't even get us started on Lebron's 3s, which were, of course, dismal.

Still: I know it hurts and sucks, but this was another thriller, a barn-burner. It just blows that we're down 0-2 now. DEN's offense is stellar, of course.

He sure missed good looks but Jokic has done a better job 1 vs 1 on him than I would have thought

    more movement needed for AD

Seeing Jokic again since bubble, hes still getting better (was mvp like than too)....Ad on other hand doesn't appear to be any better since bubble, maybe worse in terms of fts n his perimeter shooting. So to those who look at ADs game from non fandom point of view, has he improved on anything since the 1st yr he came here?

Defensively, he’s improved. On offense, he’s taken a step backwards. He’s still a Robin in my book.

more mind games from mike. he knows if AD is occupied on jokic, they'll beat us more easily than they already have.

but in the whole clip i think he was rightly praising his guys for keeping composure and taking care of the ball on offense.

he's been pushing the right buttons, though. he completely took dlo out mentally, for example.

we could shut him up any time and haven't.

AD has been careful not to stay in the paint for more than 3 seconds at at time - which is the violation.

Sorry Mike doesn't like that, but AD hasn't been playing illegal D from what I've seen.
