Anthony Davis Discussion: Only Player On Both All NBA + All Def

Epic battle between the bigs did not disappoint.

If AD is on Joker, DO NOT HELP.

We need to cut some of Joker's rebounds and I think we figured that out when we switched Rui on him. That should bump up AD's rebounding next game.

AD answered the bell...not worried about him. He historically gets up points against the Nuggets.

 

AD played phenomenal. He needs to be in the 13-16 rebounds going forward.

 

He was awesome: still pisses me off that we haven't gotten him a backup center.
Freakin Mason Plumlee instead of the Bamba trade and I think the Laker roll this denver team.

 

really strange that we didn't go for plumlee. he went for the same price, and we still have some ties to mitch.

tbh, at the time i probably thought it was six of one, half dozen of the other, but if i knew we'd be playing denver in the conference finals...

he should continue to have success this series. jokic isn't a great defender and denver doesn't really have anyone else who can guard him. the key is his midrange shot. if that falls like it does last night, he's going to have a monster series

 

Gotta find ways to get AD rest and easy buckets so he's fresh to play defense. Down the stretch we gave up some easy lay ups that AD would normally contest.

We're gonna need AD to be great every game to have a chance this series, hope he's up to the task.

 

Denver rim protection stats are not good - the dumb turnovers and wasted possession (i.e. DLo) really cost the Lakers. For all the flack Lebron gets for the dumb 3 he took - Dlo, DS, Reaves could not exploit getting the basket. Lebron changed that.

They need to adjust a little bit as MPJ seemed to honed in catching the guards when they pull up from midrange and using his height from behind. Instead they just need to attack the rim and AD should still continue to have success either with his push shots or as a lob threat.

 

Love that quote from AD. He should murder anyone driving in. I don't care about him scoring 40, just get us a win.

 

Good . Hopefully he had a discussion with Ham and told him no doubles on Jokic . It's what killed us in Game 1 , especially early

weakest "star" ive seen in a long time....Pau would demolish AD

 

that was his worst offensive game of the playoffs, imo. other games, we couldn't get him shots or whatever. but tonight, he got to his spots and missed. had two bad turnovers down the stretch, too. we can't win if he can't convert those 8 footers with regularity.
