Reaves shot was awesome of course but this block set it all up. Great play from AD.

I think part of the reason we went away from him offensively is that he carries the defense, so we don't wanna tire him out so much. It was good that other guys really stepped up offensively for him.

Agreed that it was a good sequence of events by both. Reaves was cognizant to look at the clock to see how much time was left to get himself in balance for the heave. Glad that Davis was all there for this game and not foggy.

Yeah wished we went to him more when our offense was stagnant but glad he didn't pout and brought it on the other end. We needed those stops and every one of those rebounds. GSW were getting every offensive board and he shut that down.

Gonna be interesting to see what we do with AD for Denver. He played similar defensive roles against Grizzlies and Nuggets but now Jokic is in the way. We did well against him in the bubble but then we had McGee and Dwight. AD has had a great defensive playoffs, can't wait to see it continue

Was about to say in AR thread... he looked up on our-side clock to see what he has, before turning to the other basket. Such a cerebral player.

yeah, wish we had another credible center. this is the series to start AD at pf. he can play off gordon and roam to disrupt murray/jokic, but somebody has to bear wrassle jokic.

yeah the lack of a legit #2 big man is going to haunt them. jokic will eat bamba/thompson/gabriel alive

they need to get the ball to AD down low and have him go right at jokic. get him in foul trouble

I think a big key is to attack Jokic. Make that sucker work on defense. Even if he makes plays early keeping attacking him from every angle. Defensively we have to really watch the tape. Don't be fooled by all his pivots and fakes. He throws a few hooks over you, fine. Keep your feet on the floor and limit his passes to the cutters.

Does anyone have any film of Bomba on Jokic lol. This is a tailor fit in theory for mo (very much in theory of course)

I was thinking we need to take a play out of what GS did and just hunt Jokic with PnR to get him guarding Reaves/Dlo/DS. Lakers can put a lot more pressure on him on defense then the other two teams as we I'm not sure there is anyone he can guard in this series

Cranjis is searching out possible Rui film vs Jokic, maybe he's hunting for Bamba film too.

And he found something good on Murray, hope someone on coaching staff sees the same thing, or it gets forwarded to them.

Using http://NBA.com’s admittedly wonky tracking data, Anthony Davis held Nikola Jokić to the following numbers during the regular season (3 games): 22 matchup minutes 37 points 6 assists 3 turnovers 15/18 on 2’s 1/7 on 3’s 4/4 FT

Joker had 13, 14, 11, and 11 rebounds in those Lakers games. Davis had 14, 15, and 4 in one half (injured in the game), and missed the last one

wouldn't be optimistic about mo. he seems not to be an intuitive player, and he's light/weak in the base. would think thompson would stand a better chance. and not a good one.

feel like memphis would have been a matchup where we could use mo. and maybe any of the remaining teams save denver, tbh.

wouldn't even bother trying to put bamba on jokic. he'd get eaten alive. i'd give thompson a shot but can't see that going well either

The key of the series isn't to guard Jokic ( I don't think AD can guard him as I have not seen major evidence of it) but to exploit his weaknesses on the other end and shut everybody else down .

DO NOT DOUBLE Jokic , his team lost in his two highest scoring games of the postseason ...

I agree that constant pressure on Jokic to play defense is a big key. Make him work constantly. if we are scoring and drawing fouls it is going to put a lot of pressure on them trying to keep up. On the other end we have to pressure the ball and make passing into him difficult. When he does get the ball, keep your feet on the floor. Keep the double teams sporadic and always from a different place. Most of the time don't double at all.
