I do think someone realized the implications of saying teams won’t deal with the Lakers as the talking heads are now shifting to try and crap on our kids again. We need more good efforts from Ingramand a healthy Kuz to shut that up.

    I will say this :

A lot of national medias shouldn't talk about the Lakers prospects with such certainty . ( or any team prospects for the matter).

How many Lakers games have they watched ?

I'm not able to properly evaluate C Bags prospects either as I've watched few games of them .

A few national TV games don't represent the whole truth ... far from it

You shouldn't speak about a team or players like you know everything about them unless you've watched at least 50 games of them in the season .

I’m going to be bummed if we don’t make this deal, but not devistated. Until a few days ago it wasn’t even a thought on my mind, so it’s hard to get that worked up. Main thing is though, if we’re offering them our entire young core and picks and they say no, that’s not on us, we can only offer all we have. If they say no to spite us, or are being difficult even with say bringing in a 3rd team, not on us. I believe we are doing all we can to try and make this happen, but like with Kawhi, you can’t get a deal done if the other side has been told not to deal with you. Or like with PG, you can’t get a deal done if the GM is pissed at you and asking for tampering investigations to be started in the period you have to negotiate.

100% agree. I'm glad that Magic offered 5 different proposals and has put all our young core on the table for the Pels to choose from. You can't ask for much more than that and tbh...this looks like it's lighting a bit of a fire under guys like INGRAM, who absolutely needed it.

If this trade doesn't happen...I'm not going to be uspet. I'm going to be satisfied KNOWING the Lakers tried everything...and LeBron will also know that we tried everything and it just came down to the Pels being stubborn af.

Unfortunately that's not possible. The most likely way for us to get 2 more max-type FAs is to trade for one who is not currently on a max deal (like AD), at the same time clearing space with outgoing players. Then picking up another in FA this summer, hopefully one who will take slightly less then the max or else Mag/Rob must get creative and maybe trade off the likes of Svi, Mo, Bonga for 2nd rd picks. We need to move quick anyways, we've a limited window with LBJ.

Equivalent of a pau trade today would be something like:
    Zu,hart,KCP, picks for AD

Can't believe we kept Odom and Bynum in that deal. Marc ended up being a monster though.

Jeannie needs to sue the other teams for collusuion. Pop, Stern (as acting owner), Cuban, Cavs owner. We have more than enough proof.

yeah, this is what i've been saying. this will be the second time we have been robbed of an opportunity to nab a generational talent simply because other teams didn't want us to have him. again--if this happened to any other team, everyone would be crying foul right now. everyone.

wait--i just read that NO refused a KP package for AD already--in addition to turning up their noses at our 5 offers?

all this to wait for boston to join the bidding? man, talk about handing over the leverage. if everyone knows you waited for one team to bid, what's their incentive to give up the house? demps really isn't very sharp.

In *defense* of Demps, if the Shams rumor is true about Zinger signing the qualifying offer to become an unrestricted free agent next summer, the Pelicans probably were made aware of that in the discussions and decided they didn't want to go through the hassle of their best player wanting out again a mere one year later.

In *offense* of Demps, by turning down the Lakers Godfather offer so publicly, he has essentially killed some of his leverage since other teams know that if that offer from the Lakers isn't enough now, it won't be in the summer which means teams will be inclined to offer less.

Or, Ainge and Demps have already had some "what if" conversations, leading Demps to believe he has the outline of a deal in place as of 7/6/19, and they have already discussed who to draft with Memphis' pick.
