we were cheap on caruso for sure. that was small market stuff. and the "mom & pop" stuff comes from the tim harris/rambii stuff, imo. and that's also warranted.

regarding spending, we'll see what happens this summer. beasley and bamba are non-guaranteed; rui's a FA, russell's a FA, reaves is a FA. two are restricted. if we were the nets or clippers, there wouldn't be any question about what's going to happen, imo.

We won a recent championship with a roster of mostly vet minimums type salaries dude. Where were you? This team moving forward won't be in that situation anyway. I don't get your point at all. Obviously we didn't win a chip in a season and a half of Westbrook, but what does that have to do with anything now? Golden State had 3 guys like that, Milwaukee too. The Championship winning team this season, most likely will as well.

I mean hell...nobody is winning anything, with thier two best players, missing almost half of their games.

where was i when we had several non-min, non-new players on the team? the fact that caruso and kuz happened to be on the tail end of rookie contracts also skewed that. but green, mcgee, bradley were all non-mins.

Yeah and Bradley never made it to the bubble, and Javale barely played a lot. Rondo was on a vet min, so was Dwight, Waiters, and Kief, "skewed" or not, Caruso and Kuz were on vet min type of contracts. You can't tell me that we didn't have a lot of vet min type contracts, (5-10? ) that played a big role on that Championship winning team, just because it doesn't fit your preferred narrative.

lol with the preferred narratives. fine; count that in your column. now name the other one. then express it as a percentage of teams that won it all. then stop with your argument.

What am I naming? Teams that won a championship with 3 guys taking up 60-70 % of their cap space? A 3 star model? A 3 star model that had the same type of roster construction, as we did last season? I mean how does that relate to what we have moving forward? We won a chip with a two star model, but we had a bunch of min level contracts

What exactly are we talking about? Because these are different things.

you're naming the teams that had players 4-10 in their rotation that were a) new and b) paid close to the league minimum.

so, i guess your third thing: 3-star roster with a bunch of mercenaries. i promise you won't even fill up one hand covering the entirety of nba history. expand the group to conference finalists, same result. it's a bad way to work, recycling the entire roster except three guys every year.

I get the your point, and that scenario applied to us when we made the Russ trade true. It was probably unlikely for us to win a chip with that roster. It was most definitely impossible with our injury situation. Our current roster makeup and moving forward, will not be in the same situation. I still would have made that trade, if it didn't work out, we can still pivot into a better position. That's what we did.

Fantastic game from AD, got us a win in a pretty much must win situation. Played like a star, made huge shots.

AD once again putting together consecutive Beast Mode games in must-wins. Like an all-time great.

As a basketball fan this is why we watch the game.

As a Laker fan it's deliriously thrilling.

Love dominant moves and reactions in big moments from him like this

Outstanding right out of the gate. They had nothing for him. Their best defense on him was making it harder for the guards to get him the ball. Couldn't believe when they put Iggy on him. Why is he playing? He's their Haslem at this point, that's it.

It's going to have to look like this until Bron gets back... if Bron gets back.

That's the frustrating part with AD.. He's a legit MVP caliber player when healthy...
