Big game on the glass. Defense in the 4th was a difference maker. I didn't think he was aggressive on offense until the 4th and the refs mistook him for Bron out there and swallowed the whistle.

Yes, Kerr and the Warriors schemed well for him but if you're an elite player it doesn't matter. Schemes don't dictate your performance. He's still getting his legs and we won, so it's OK for now.

Still working himself back into game shape. I expect more bounce in the coming weeks.

So frustrating to watch this dude sleepwalk through games on offense. He plays with absolutely ZERO sense of urgency or fire. He got completely man handled by Draymond. Have some pride and dunk on him instead of those weak fall aways and off balanced flip ups!!!
Man do I miss Shaq. When guys tried to get tough with him, he put them in their place by completely humiliating them with monster jams.

He's such an elite all time defensive player. I was f***ing pissed watching him and yet in the 4th quarter he basically shut down the Warriors offense.

Just so few players in NBa history who can run protect and have the feet to stay with not just guards but great scoring guards. I'm more comfortable on defense playing basketball myself and AD sort of seems like that type of guy

The problem remains: we need him to return to something close to MVP AD if we even are going to make the play in. They already said it’s looking like LeBron is going to miss the next game.
There’s no time for .500 ball anymore. They HAVE TO go on a win streak now.

    I'm not disagreeing.

The question though If he's DPOY caliber it might not matter as much with DLo and Hachimura plus Reaves back?

Well, we may be able to get away with it against most teams, if LeBron can come back and continue to dominate. I guess if DLo can start averaging 20+ points as well than yeah, AD won’t have to dominate very often offensively. You also have to take into account that Dennis was huge tonight and he hasn’t been a consistent 20 ppg scorer for us all season.
I just feel much more comfortable when AD is scoring at the rim because it opens up the entire offense for everyone else. Plus, when he has it going, he’s usually converting at a much higher percentage than our other players.

Rough night offensively, and the refs didn't help either. No calls at all despite much hacking. But I love the new team. They have tons of other offensive weapons including Beasley who didn't have it going yet. AD brought it when it mattered most on the defensive end. That's the most important thing going forward. He's got help now and so does Lebron. Finally!

This is my take. We need AD for sure but he came through on the defensive end totally disrupting the warriors. He cleaned up the boards. His offensive game will come back but we don't need it as bad as we did. I give AD props for focusing on defense and letting others score. He didn't force things and still impacted the game in a very positive way. AD is going to be good. I believe he is going to like playing with Dlo and we will see inspired play going forward. Dangerous group we have.

just got around to watching. his shot was just off all night, and in the 4th he did the right thing and took it in the paint. got fouled at least 4 times with no whistle. not sure what else you can do. he was going at the defenders, and they had to foul him to prevent the buckets.

he also was the one who scored i think 6 points to keep jordan poole from single-handedly beating us midway through the 4th.

anyway, i thought he looked fine. draymond played a great game, too--you could tell he was up for this one.

AD wasn't going to outshoot the blazers from three, nor defend lillard 35ft from the basket.

Just not the same since the injury. 20 boards and 3 blocks is impressive but where has his offense gone? 19 points with no Nurk out there? Should have had twice that.

With AD obviously struggling offensively since the injury and probably not going to magically be right before surgery this offseason, I'm even more interested in seeing Bamba out there in the starting lineup at stretch 5 with AD. I think it gives the defensive a big boost to have him deal with any centers and adding shot-blocking down low. Then you can utilize Dlo and Beasley without as much concern for D, and have a big boost for three point shooting. That would be a nice sized lineup: Dlo, Beasley, Lebron, AD and Bamba. Substitute guys in as needed - if you want to go smaller but keep offense, try Rui. If you want more D switch that to Vanderbilt.

But I think going forward I'd like to see AD back at the 4 to minimize worsening his injury and give him some help offensively and defensively. We've never seen him with a true stretch 5. I thought we'd see a little of that with Bryant but he didn't shoot much out there surprisingly. With Bamba close to 40% from three on the year he could be a nice addition.

Basically, what have we got to lose at this point? We are almost out of it in terms of the playin. Why not try something new? I think we need to do something.

didn't see the portland game, but the gs game he got hacked a bunch and a few roll out on him. he looked generally fine to me. and it's hard to get 20 boards if you're super compromised. i think he's just in a bit of a shooting funk, which seems to happen after he misses time. he'll get get it back.

my bigger concern is if and when he's going to have offseason surgery and what that timetable will look like.

Well supposedly a teeny weeny incision and like less than 2 week recovery, wasn’t that the reporting? And “if so” some thought why not then do it at the time?

Just don’t be Shaq now this summer and wait to do it on company time ….”cause”

Some kind of funk though. Three of the last four he's been under 20 points. He was averaging 35 ppg before the injury.

He looks fine physically to me. I look forward to seeing him play with Jarred and MO. They should be an excellent trio defensively. He doesn't have anyone feeding him a lot of easy baskets at the rim right now, but Bron will be back soon. We also haven't made a point of getting him the ball on the block, much lately either. If he commits to setting good picks, he and D'Angelo could be decent in the P&R action too.
