I think there are plenty of ways AD can explain his reaction to downplay things. Shouldn’t be too difficult, could say he was feeling under the weather, dealing with some unrelated personal things, etc.

So if he DOESN’T have a generic/safe explanation and either deflects the question entirely or says something that still shows some frustration with LeBron, that would be very telling

I think AD will answer something like, I got along pretty well with Lebron the first year and we won the championship but honestly I can't stand him. I have been putting up a good front and trying to make it work but I'm getting tired of hearing this BS about it being my team and building around me. Then he went and tried to get me traded. Once this season is over one of us has to go. Never know...lol.

According to Kendrick Perkins it's because the energy with Russ was low. Don't know how connected he is to that situation..

We need some fire from AD, he turned into Paussy Gasol faster than expected.

yea if AD don't show up, the trade wouldnt mean much, as side not i dont think we improve on def though with the new guys, its still going to mostly or all of D will rely on AD still

If he doesn’t turn back into Beast Mode AD, starting tomorrow, the season is over.

Hope the team pulls together for the remaining games and they give themselves a chance. Seems like another deal is in order, but we’ll see.

if they can’t pull together and make some noise, does it make any sense to keep Bron and a D next year? Except to sell tickets?

AD is not 100%, he might not get there soon. He just needs to be good-to-great defensively and we have a shot. In LeBron and AD's time here, this might be the team that has the most offensive options on it. Schroeder, Russell and Rui can all get baskets.

I like AD , he got us a title and is a beast when healthy but I think we should cash in right now as some teams are going all in for the title

AD is likely to be injured more often than not going forward so more playoffs success isn't likely to happen with him as one of the top 2 on our team.

Three seasons in a row is enough evidence to pull the trigger on a trade for a player of his caliber. Unfortunately ...

Won't happen but it should imo

Weird and odd don’t quite say it. AD is not happy with the coaches, Russ, and clearly Lebron. For him to sit at that moment, knowing the historical significance, and for Bron to say “you know” while walking on eggshells…. Doesn’t mean a beef, per se (like Kobe-Shaq), but there is clearly a fracture, and with a weak foundation (Bron and AD) this is a house of cards now. AD essentially protesting and pouting about something.

Since Phil, the Lakers have not been able to match the right coaches to maximize and control Kobe, Howard, all the talented kids (now playing near all-star levels for other teams), Bron and AD - plus’s dealing with the Buss family, Magic, and others. Frank V did a phenomenal job getting that chip - esp the season we lost Kobe - but outside the bubble I doubt that title happens.

If AD is moved today, it is not because of his talent, it will be because of his attitude, injury proneness, and Bron pushing it behind the scenes because of HIS window.

Anyone heard from AD today? Team seemed to bend over backwards to build the team around him. A bunch of 26 and younger folks to hit their primes while he's still in his

I know people are gonna be mad at Davis but just bear in mind he's going up against both Giannis AND Lopez. That's the best defensive front court in the NBA and he was out there without Lebron who attracts a lot of attention.

He just doesn't look right yet. Glad he played though. Having him play at least gave us a chance. As ever, AD is the guy who is going to determine how far we go ultimately. If he's only at 80% it's going to be a very tough road.

Yeah he's not getting much lift off the ground. He'll need to be managed down the stretch until he can get surgery to remove that bone spur. Either way his presence will be helpful. When more guys are in the lineup teams won't be able to just load up on him and not every team has two dominant defensive front court players.

So maybe.. try harder? If he’s hurt he’s hurt I guess, maybe it’s frustration over his body always giving out on him

Yeah, I was just watching the post game and McMenamin tried to ask him about it. He rebutted any idea of it being about his relationship with Lebron and it was earnest. He said he was just po'd because they were losing to the Pelicans. I believe him. I think some of it definitely is frustration as you said Weezy, he's clearly not 100% at all.
