I don’t see how that’s a contrarian take or an attack on the FO. I did read Woj’s quote a bit wrong the first time, thought it was implying we are avoiding a procedure that it needs right now to see if he can play on it. I see now he said they’re hoping to avoid it if it heals on its own, which is indeed hopeful news. But my point remains that I don’t see why they’d rush him back to play, even if he seems better. They’ve said they won’t make a trade involving our first round picks that doesn’t make us a contender, so if this season is contender or bust for them, I don’t see how that doesn’t apply to AD’s health. Put him in bubble wrap, don’t risk any further injury for a possible 10th seed play-in spot.

Every season is championship or bust since we signed Lebron.

Then the FO should act like it with the signings and trades they make. You can’t say it’s championship or bust and then put this roster together and leave Russ on it, unless you REALLY mean it on the “bust” end of that saying.

The FO thinks keeping Lebron happy on and off the court makes them a title contender.

if the swelling and pain leave and nothing's on the imaging, he plays. he gets a lot of money for that. even if we're going to finish 10th.

if he still had pain and unexplained swelling, etc., you obviously have to be more careful.

if he comes back pain-free and reinjures the same foot, maybe we'll actually see what the structural issue or root injury is and go from there.

Maybe they don't agree with your assessment.

I still think the league made a big mistake rushing back into another season that soon after the bubble. High profile players have been going down left and right since that decision. It could be coincidence but I remember Kief complaining about playing the most ball of his life, and guys feeling burnt out that season.

confirming woj: seems like about as good of news as you could get for something like this.

Just keep him away from whatever Kendrick Nunn eats, drinks or does

Translation: he had to work too hard carrying this misfit roster because Rob didn't and won't get him help, which resulted in him getting hurt because he can't do this by himself.

Anthony Davis carries this pathetic defense on his back by himself.

i don't view this as good news at all, tbh. means next injury is basically guaranteed, only question is timing.

With you and think it will lead to other injuries if he comes back.

So should we shut down AD for another year and what happens next year when he gets injured again?

Trade him, the answer is trade him. Get whatever first round picks and decent players you can get before he breaks for good. Some team is always willing to gamble to sell tickets or have a star player that they’d otherwise have no shot at ever having. Chicago maybe even would gamble to bring him home, I dunno. We won’t, he’ll continue to go out there and get injured every season until he expires or maybe we trade him as an expiring for next to nothing, but yeah, it won’t end well. Poorly run franchise, they are no longer interested in winning or trying to win with LeBron and AD, yet they also don’t want to move on from them and rebuild while they have them as assets.

Unfortunately this is just who AD is. I also don’t think playing him less minutes or less games is going to change that. His body is just injury prone. I can relate personally, after my first major injury (tearing ACL/MCL/Cartilage) I could just never get my body right again regardless of who I worked with and how much therapy I did.

Had hips, back, ankle injuries after. Just is what it is.

like seriously we're barely 1/4 into the season and already talking bout shutting him down for the season and this is someone we're suppose to build around?
