Anthony had a freak playoffs in 2020 and hit for 38% from 3. He's never done that again before or after or even come anywhere close. We're talking 23 3s made, not a big sample size. You don't let a guy who shot 26% and then 18% for the past 2 seasons shoot 3s. He's shooting 23% right now. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize it's past time to stop.

30/18 in 28 minutes is pretty efficient

Nice to see him stepping up. Got so used to seeing him soft the place up it's easy to forget he's capable of this.

Prepared for him to regress at any time unfortunately

THIS version of AD, which we haven’t seen for a loooong time, is the guy we have all missed. Glad to see him with the fire again. Maybe this season is salvageable.

feels nice watching AD play like it's 2019/20 again

if he can keep this up when lebron returns, this team will make the playoffs

It’s nice to see AD having fun and doing what he is doing.

Love to see the whole team feeding him and Russ looking for him so much. The way it should be.

3rd straight 30 point game. Plus 18 boards. In 28 minutes. Yeah that works. Time to get AD some reinforcements. Get rid of the deadweight in BevMo and Nunn.

AD definitely sending message to management that he's not ready to pack in the season like last year.

I don't think any of us should be ready to pack in the season. AD has shown that he is still a monster with out Lebron. The obvious key to our season is Lebron coming back and enhancing that instead of trying to insert his will again. If Lebron does buy in we will be dangerous. We have a third star emerging in Austin Reaves. Pre-emptive strike. He does not have to be flashy to be a star. He makes our offense work and knows where the ball needs to go. It does not bother me that AD's big games have come against inferior teams. If he keeps this mindset he can put these numbers up against anyone. He is that good. We have some slashers and our three point shooting is slowly coming around. When the double and triple teams start coming we will be better able to handle them. I'm just hoping that when Lebron is ready Ham makes the right adjustment to our starting line up. Beverly needs to be the one out.

He's playing like the franchise player I was expecting to see this season. The only nitpicking that I can do with Anthony, is that he's not that good at handling a double team. He tends to force bad passes when he gets doubled. I would expect teams to try and send help towards him a lot more frequently moving forward. If he can improve in that regard and stay healthy, AD is a legit MVP caliber player.

He is playing like the player I was hoping to see but better than I expected. Mostly to me he just looks more inspired. I like how we are using him now. Limits the other team's ability to double him. As he sees it more he will handle it better.

he hasn't really learned how to beat doubles in ten years, so i'm not holding my breath. and that limits him as a #1 offensive option. but he can be a #2 offensive option and maybe the best big defender in the league, and that's huge value.

There’s many ways to skin the cat. An AD that’s a DPOY caliber defender, while getting you 25 is a top 10 player in the league. If he starts hitting the mid range again he is top 5.

Health is what it is, but I’m not trading him. Even if we don’t get any assets and he is never injury free again. The 50/50 chance that he is healthy for a season and a playoff run is too valuable.

you're preaching to the choir. my only caveat is that if we're going to finish 11th with him playing this way, it's maybe best for all to move on. there's time to figure it out.

my post above is just facts: he's not great passing out of double teams. tim duncan was bad at it for much of his career, too, tbh.

He might be at his healthiest since the bubble as evinced by his monster rebounding numbers

Competition has been very weak but I'm optimistic. Let's see what he does against Phoenix tonight
