Not sure if you’re being super sarcastic, but yes, those players do exist. In fact MOST stars, play most of the season, that’s part of why they’re stars, they can be depended on in addition to their talent. LeBron has had one freak guy falling into him injury that kept him out any time, AD has had several. I didn’t say we need to trade him for another big, just another star caliber player, can be a guard, a wing, or a big, with tree trunk legs if you like. Again, these are the things that I would do, not what I think the Lakers would do, or are even necessarily the right moves. I can just see where this ends, the last 2 seasons have ended the same way, AD injured, our title chances gone, I would personally look to rebuild while we have the pieces to do so and they don’t walk for nothing.

the funny thing about guys that never get hurt is that they eventually get hurt. there's been a handful of karl malones and AC greens in nba history.

if landing on a guys' foot is the last straw for you, i've got bad news about basketball and the possibility of landing on feet.

hes trending backwards in terms of injuries, just cause its not soft tissue or constant knee issues doesnt mean much for AD, hes shown last 2 years. 1 injury cascade into many...lebron had one of those ankle injury from landing on someones fit. he didnt miss months

I'll repeat. Me and you landing on a guy's feet will have different consequences. It's how the body is, the strength of the tissues and ligaments and a bunch of other anatomy stuff.

AD is just injury prone. No one in this forum wants him injured and we all would like to have him healthy moving forward. It's just highly unlikely

and i'll repeat: preponderance of evidence is a better predictor than smaller samples, even if they're more recent. unless the argument is that something fundamentally changed in the structure of AD's body when he turned 27.

anyway, i've yet to see anyone suggest a trade that makes sense. in fact, it seems like everyone advocating moving on is maybe afraid to write down what that would mean.

How about this; AD is injury prone, but I would not trade him (unless he asks out when LeBron leaves).

Also, it's not just injury prone. Another factor is the ability to play with / through pain. Kobe was legendary at it, as an obvious example. AD, not so much. He did suck it up during the Bubble run when he was injured, but since then how many times has he gotten dinged up and sat? Since the Bubble, it seems he has spent more time on the bench than on the floor.

But, all that said, I still would keep him. He is a unique talent. He is still young and in his prime years. Some players get more durable as they get in their prime. I hope he will. Either way though we will not get full value for him because of the durability issue. Keep him, and hope to sign a great player to replace LeBron once his salary and Westbrook's are off the books.

again, i'm BEGGING any of you to provide a possibility, and the best you can do is turn it around.

ok: lebron, the other guy we have under contract.

after him, who knows. i've said if beal opts in, we have a great shot at him. if not, you hit singles and try to aggregate and trade for the next derozan (vet everyone decided sucks but definitely doesn't).

so, who's your AD replacement? who are you trading him for that helps us be better now and/or in the future? if the answer is air, gtfo.

Beal is getable? how? bos was willing to offer brown n Was said no, i didn't realize we had anything on brown lvl....im not advocating to trade AD now but w/o bron or another bron lvl type star, it is futile to build around an oft injured big who still cant handle being doubled team...if bron leaves im rebuilding period, not hitching my wagon to AD

he can walk in FA next year.

but again, i just wait and wait for the alternate plans.

your plan is go nuclear. that's a terrible plan; sorry. that's not what winning franchises do.

edit: and again, it speaks to my point. people are just letting anger/frustration dictate all commentary on this site, and that, to me, is frustrating.

i can't believe how short the memories are here. we went from s*** to winning a title, and people are desperate to go back to s***.

we were in the sucking, rebuilding and lots of losing phase cause we held onto premise of kobe legacy. whose to say we wouldnt be in same position with AD and his frailty?

not sure. but i know that without him, we're in worse position FA-wise. unless your (as-yet-unstated) plan solves that.

i stand by my comments, no future star FA will want to hitch themselves to an oft-injured big....we'll be going thru the losing phase n asset acquiring stage once Bron is either gone or retires

ok, i'd rather go through that process with a guy who's proven to be a top-5 player in the nba when he's able to go. so many more options. honestly, it's just a weird argument that you'd rather not see it through. the absolute worst-case AD scenario (he's broken and never plays) isn't much different than trading him for healthy players who aren't that good.

you were just poopooing mediocrity, but that's the very BEST you could hope for if you moved AD.

    further: i'll throw one out:

charlotte is desperate for starpower and always has been. bet they'd give you miles bridges, plumlee, and oubre. i'm guessing they'd add draft picks, too. do you take it? i say hell no. good luck finding an AD for three good rotation players. i'll take my chances.
