I actually love that court for the branding in that market. Anywhere else and I’d agree, but I think it’s perfect in the Brooklyn market.

It just looked so forced and phony, not much different from the slippers contrived ‘grit over glamor, street lights over spot lights’ marketing clown show.

Yeah, that lame ‘streetlights over stoplights,’ and ‘the right way over the easy way’ bs from a team owned by one of the richest people in the US was so contrived. That court and their GTA knockoff unis are so contrived it’s actually embarrassing.

I grew up on 95th and Anzac. Right in the heart of LA, I'm embarrassed by what the claps have done. Their uni's look like the cheap knock off jerseys with Los Angeles written on them the homies used to buy from the swapmeets..

The lettering on their jerseys tries to be "street"... Quite the contrast from that stupid mascot too.

That’s the Fruit Loops toucan bird. It matches their fruit loop owner…..minus the sweaty armpits.

Davis needs to finally take care of his body and his nutrition.

IMO he hasn't been as obsessive with his workouts as other great players typically are. He gets injured too often and almost looks like he is already on the decline. I expect him to have a good year because of the last disappointing season but IMO, he lacks that absolute fire from within. No mamba mentality.

He is a perfect Robin for LeBron but we will have to find a new "alpha" to take over when LeBron hangs it up.

Yep, he is kind of soft. It might be a problem in the future because he says he wants to be the man and even LeBron gave him some space to keep him happy. It won't be an easy transition, but let's deal with that later.

Davis has been the man in the past and he absolutely has the talent.

Its just that "dog" that he is missing IMO. When he has a couple of crappy games, he comes out with a vengeance and has a huge game but he isn't the type of guy to keep that going and going...he reverts back to being a side kick to LeBron. That isn't necessarily bad because you needs star players without an ego to co-exist. But at the end of the day, he always needs that "kick in the butt" to be at his absolute best.

And as a fact, you don't turn into a "dog" at 28. Either you have it or you don't. Its not something you "develop" over the years. Therefore we should accept Davis for what he is and look to find a replacement for James rather than trying to fit a square in a round hole.

At the end of the day he is a top 10 player in the NBA, even without the mamba mentality. But if we want to win championships, you need that top 3 player...its hard enough to get one, as most teams never have one. But if there is a franchise that can be appealing, its gotta be the Lakers.
