The Lakers aren’t the C Bags or the Clippers, they don’t conduct business like that with their stars at the very least. It’s why some stars come here even when we are down, like LeBron did. It’s why AD said he wouldn’t re-sign in Boston if they traded for him, because of how they treated a guy like Isaiah Thomas. Having class matters, players see how we treat guys, they see how we treated Kobe in his final years. I hope we never stoop to the levels of teams like that, pulling crap like telling Blake Griffin he’s your future and then trading him the next offseason, it’s why teams like that never win. Trading AD after all we did to land him here and after he committed long term because he’s had some injuries would be one of the worst looks in recent years.

well, that and it would be incredibly stupid from a basketball standpoint, right? list the players you'd trade him for. it's an incredibly short list and none of their teams would trade them for anyone either.

if his value wasn't apparent to you from the last 2 1/2 games, i'm not sure what to say. phx went from dead in the water to beating us by 1000.

Absolutely not. We're not that kind of organization and he will be back. Just have some things he needs to work on in the offseason.

Right. AD completely changed everything about this team. There are only a handful of guys with that kind of on the court impact.

The only reason we even expected to win is because of him. Guys have quickly forgotten just how bad we were before him and LeBron arrived.

We won a title in his first year and were set up to repeat. We couldn’t catch a break in the second half of the season and that’s just how it goes sometimes.

I hope AD just locks himself away in a regeneration pod and doesn't step outside until October.

Yesterday was one of the moments where the coaching staff should have stepped in to save him from himself. He shouldn't have been playing. The series was already over.

Just get health Ludabrow. Rest, rehab. He didn't fully recover from that achilles/calf injury in game 5 of the finals last year and was never healthy after that. A full offseason will do him good.

i think they threw him a bone because he and they both felt bad, tbh. same way i think starting gasol was an apology for not treating him well.

i know AD's the big punching bag on the board, but he wanted to play and knows they'd have won if he were healthy. think he had to be able to say "i tried it out".

Well, yeah, but one, that kinda goes without saying, and two, this poster doesn’t actually believe that, so there isn’t a point arguing that side of it. I had to at least post about what a terrible look it would be even if it were seriously considered, which it won’t be. This is someone still going around calling LeBron “LeBronze”, they clearly don’t appreciate what great players bring and do for this franchise.

nothing is funnier than when lakers "fans" trash bron

anyone who prefers if we had kept lonzo, ingram, clarkson, etc and competed for the 10th seed every year should just go ahead and become a t-wolves or kings fan

He shouldn't have been playing and the team doctors who cleared him were pretty much ignoring his actual well-being. I'm glad they got him out in time and it didn't lead to a more serious injury but you don't want to risk it. Lakers were done the moment AD got injured. Putting him out there when he couldn't even elevate off the floor = they did not even check to see if he was healthy before clearing him. NBA may have to think about having a third-party medical team to make sure that a player who is cleared coming off an injury is actually able to play.

honestly, the team's even more invested in the player in AD's situation than the league is. they played it fine, imo. we weren't winning anything, and AD needed to feel like he gave it a shot. we had no plan B, and we shut him down immediately when it was clear he wasn't right.

I think the plan was always to have him go out there for a few minutes in a Willis Reed type scenario and hope it inspired the team to a victory. Anyone who has ever pulled a groin knows that even a minor pull wouldn't allow you to play 4-5 days later. It was theater. I honestly don't think the team thought he could go 25 minutes.

If the team needed that to be inspired, then they never deserved to win the title... If Lakers beat the Suns without AD so AD could get some rest to heal up, that should've been all the inspiration they needed.

His timing is impeccable. Also, that block on Giannis was sick. Not many people can do that the the Greek Freak.
