The reality is you can be a mixed bag, even on a night when you post 34-10-7 with 3 blocks and lock in on defense from the start. He absolutely beasted down the stretch, but I’m sure most of us were scratching our heads through three quarters wondering why he wasn’t attacking the basket and instead settling for lousy jumpers. Anyway, hopefully that fourth quarter is a sign of things to come.

When he’s engaged and truly focused, we are simply a different team and have a better chance of winning. He knows it, everyone knows it.

    loved his play last night.

also loved how he didn’t limp too much despite being on the ground, he kept getting back up and played through everything.

Moarrr of this AD tomorrow please.

i only saw the first half and beginning of the third. he went to the basket a lot, imo. lebron didn't. he's letting mikal bridges keep him on the perimeter. they shouldn't get away with that.

LeBron's way of playing is by design. He is pacing himself perfectly, because he is in tune with his body. He will ramp it up slowly as we go.

The jumpers are his game, they aren't going away. He hasn't quite caught his rhythm yet with his shot, but he's getting there.

Most definitely, he isn't at 100 percent, but he isn't hobbled either. He gave us what we needed, when we had to have it.

The jumpers are a big part of his game. But you need to adjust for your opponent, and for the moment, especially when you're in the bonus. He wasn't doing that in the first half.

i mean...possibly? though this isn't how it's gone in the past. same excuse could be made for AD in game 1--feeling things out, seeing what it was going to take to win games.

my point was really that the forum seems to have favorite targets. and if it was about going to the basket, lebron is definitely not doing that, to the team's detriment.

There is a happy medium to be had. Here's where I think he's at: Dominant and a top 5 player when he's fully engaged. While some people can go cold causing them to have an off night, AD's off nights are usually due to being disinterested, even looking scared at times. It's not fair to compare him to Kobe, but it is fair to question whether or not AD can lead a team without Lebron when he has a tendency to float through certain games. He is definitely talented enough to be that guy, but teammates notice when you take nights off or look shook. It's a concern. When Lebron retires, AD will need a player that isn't necessarily as good as Lebron. He doesn't even have to be better than AD. But he does need someone like a Lebron or a CP3 that will drag people with him.

Heh, I tend to be more forgiving but yeah his injuries are a concern. Honestly even with just Curry, that’s a helluva pair that can contend for years.

Speaking of Steph... you know how many players shot more than 100 step back threes this year?

    8.

And how many actually managed to hit more than 37% of those?

    1.

It's Steph, of course. Now, that's not the crazy detail. He actually hit 47% (!) of those.

My street cred take on this is Steph sucks from the right baseline!!!! Drop his salary, sell him to a non-contender!!!

that is bizarre, though--especially considering how many players can only shoot from the corners.
