I would be fine if he didn’t play. We may take an L, but this is a marathon.

i hope penberthy wasn't giving him shooting tips...because they didn't work!

good game from AD, regardless. he's an mvp-level player.

Man, AD started off with some shooting woes but wow did he finish strong coming off that tweaked ankle. Put up numbers incredibly close to Giannis - 36 points, 10 boards, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots in 43 minutes. Giannis had 34, 11, 7 and 1 blocked shot by comparison. Those two were dynamite tonight. Big difference was Giannis made his threes and AD did not although he was probably hampered a bit by the ankle in that regard. Still, pretty even all told.

i thought ad played giannis on D pretty well...yea he made some 3s but davis stopped him on a number of drives and forced him to kick it out. i havent really seen anyone else be strong and quick enough to stay in front of him like AD was

Outside semantics aside, he pretty much battled the freak to a standstill, our bench was just routed by the Bucks badly.

If LeBron is a no-go tomorrow - then that game is going to be a statement game for AD

Can he lead this team to a win without LeBron against the 2 seed in the west?

Will be great for AD's MVP campaign for sure.....

I said at the start of the season when someone was going on and on about Rondo being the only creator besides Lebron that we had some others (Caruso if given the chance, Bradley a bit by getting to the rim or passing, Cook I thought [maybe not]) and AD himself. Use your handles big guy and draw the 2 or 3 defenders leaving perimeter shooters wide open.

AD has a career assist turnover ratio of about 1 to 1

Even during his highest usage season he only averaged 2 assists a game with more turnovers than dimes.

He's talented so I'm not saying he'll never become a great passer, but it's unlikely he will be a solution at point.

Let Rondo run the offense and let AD deal with the scoring and defense.

"Let Rondo run the offense...". I can't wait until we don't have that problem anymore...

this game isn't a referendum on AD's superstardom, before somebody tries to make it one. it's already established--happily, for most of us.

Well we should have kept Zo or drafted Coby White then.

Rondo was horrible last game, but overall he's been okay.

I don't know why you'd try to use AD at point when you have one of the all time greatest playmakers on the bench.

ROFL - "one of the greatest playmakers off the bench...". Is that part of a stand up comedy bit?

Rondo is "okay" when he's getting limited mins...as of late, the shooting has been horrible, he's bee lazy with the basketball, and he's injury prone.

And every metric shows he's mostly a net negative.

You gave me a nice laugh, though.

Rajon Rondo career assist turnover ratio per 36... 9.6 to 3.2 Exactly a 3 to 1 ratio

Rajon Rondo's assist turnover ratio per 36 this season 9.4 to 3.3 Wow... how he is slipping.

AD's career assist turnover ratio per 36 2.3 to 2.0.

Come on... we all agree AD is a great player... but this is like hiring the world's best plumber to fix your wiring. Is it possible he can do it? Sure... but I'd rather give the job to the guy who's done it for years.

Go take up for Rondo in his thread; and if AD chooses to create over Rondo, I am not mad one bit.

I post metric after metric up that shows Rondo is a net negative.

How's he slipping? Have you been watching him the last 2 years when he's healthy?

Idk what to tell you; but if I were you, I'd become a Pelicans fan of you're not already.
