    My understanding is that if the Pels wanna deal the #4 they would need the Lakers help, meaning they’d need to bring a third team. I heard they are shopping it. So, I guess there is some give and take and there is some incentive to help... on both sides.

    The funny thing is a good number, if not most here predicted this would happen if we signed LeBron. I remember I was so adamant against signing LeBron and then him getting his buddies deals like he did with Thompson in Cleveland. But, for AD, and the possibility of adding Kawhi or Butler or some other max guy, all the kids can go, don’t care anymore, it’s championship chasing time after KD and Klay went down.

    It’s similar to what Riley did when he gutted the Miami team to make room for LeBron and Bosh.

    Pels really don't gain much if they wait. But yeah, Woj definitely has an agenda when he tries to build a narrative with his own analysis. But when it comes to reporting, he is getting fed that info from somewhere.

    The more I look at the insistence of adding a mystery 3rd team to this deal and how the Pels want to trade the 4th...the more I'm thinking that maybe we send the pick to the 3rd team to get off the caphold of 7.1m, which then adds another incomplete roster charge to our books, but we free up about 6.2m more in cap.

    For example, let's say the mystery 3rd team are the Bulls.

    LA: Bulls second rounder 38th overall pick (Bazley), Bulls future protected 1st that becomes 2 2nd rounders, Chi min deal (ie Blakeney), Pels min deal (ie Woods)

    Chi: 4th (Garland), Solomon Hill

    Pels: 7th, LaVine, JJ

    This move essentially is made to wipe the 4th pick caphold of 7.1m off our books and replace it with minimum deals that opens up about 5.4m.

    So now our cap space goes from 32m to 37.4m. We then offer Kawhi 32.7m and will then be left with 4.7m in cap space. Taking in AD's 27.1m with our remaining cap space will turn it into a 22.4m salary to match. Zo/BI/Hart aggregate to about 18m which can bring in up to 23m in salary.

    So trade happens asap but is broken up as a pick swap LaVine 3team trade and a AD Laker-Pel trade. This allows Kawhi to also get his full max. It allows the Pels to swap 4 for LaVine/7 and it allows us to only loss JJ in cheap labor but get back Woods, Blakeney and a 2nd rounder that hopefully becomes Bazley.

    If (and I really doubt it), but if AD is adamant about having his full trade kicker, then we can include Moe and Bonga and the money still works out.
