I honestly don’t get why y’all are freaking out we’re not hearing anything right now. Quiet is usually a good thing.

Think about it, Griffin is trying to fetch the best offers, what does he have to gain from accepting the Lakers offer RIGHT NOW when he can wait to get the offers he can up until a few days before the draft?

agreed n if leonard would come. you can still dump enough salary to fit the trade after leonard or a max agrees

This is a big reason why i would love to keep as many young guys as possible. Aside from their skill set of course

This is all very interesting, cause that trade scenario was mentioned a day or two ago from a Chicago beat writer too as well. I’ve also seen someone who seems to be resourceful mention it as well about a week or 2 ago.

If they keeping BI at least, then it’s a win for us regardless. And it will take more than #4, BI or Kuz to get Beal imo. Only because Beal still has 2 years left on his contract and is more controllable than AD.

The infatuation for Bradley Beal by some is mind bottling.

If we somehow keep BI, he's gone next year anyways, right? How much can he get?

    Hi all,

    Finally got some free time...

I asked around more about the Bulls deal. I couldn't get a confirmation on the quoted offer that seems to be circulating here. Just that the Bulls would get #4 + Lonzo and the Pelicans one of Ingram/Kuzma. Probably means either 1) deal is not yet in the final stages or 2) the information hasn't reached the guys I'm talking to (as of a couple hours ago).

I will say one thing. The fact that it's quiet on the media is either a great sign or a very poor one. All the leaks have most likely been coming from Griffin in an effort to up the ante on proposed deals. If he's stopped, that means he's finally getting serious about finalizing something. Or, it means that negotiations have stalled and someone will have to move from their current stance, like what you saw on Wed/Thurs until the Bulls for some reason conceded a bit.

Hope this helps. My fingers are crossed!

    Best Regards,
    Mr. Rambis

I’m pretty sure we technically could keep him, as he’s our free agent and would be a RFA, we’d just have to go into luxury tax land to do so. At least that’s my understanding anyway, same way the Warriors CAN keep Klay and extend KD, but they have to go into crazy new levels of luxury tax never before seen. Ingram would be able to go get an offer from another team, and we’d be able to match, or we can just make him an offer. I don’t know what a player like that can be offered coming off their rookie deal though, but I’ve seen it said elsewhere it can be like 25 mil. That seems crazy to me though unless he absolutely breaks out, but then that’s what Wiggins and Towns second contracts started at, so I have no clue.

Agreed, but on the other side, I as much as I would love to keep the kids, AD will turn into my favorite Laker since Kobe the nanosecond hes ours lol.

If you keep Ingram and get AD, you are the winners in any scenario not involving LBJ.

And you would be correct sir.

Salary cap for the 2020/21 season is projected to be @ 116m. Luxury tax threshold for the 2020/21 season is projected to be @ 141m. Bron (39.2), AD opt out and sign 30% max (34.8), 2nd season of 30% max player signed this summer (34.3m), BI eligible for 25% rookie max (29m), Deng dead money (5m) = 142.3m

Assuming BI gets a max deal, we sign a player to a multi-year max deal this summer and that we trade for AD and he opts out to sign a max deal next summer, we would already be paying taxes on just 4 players.

But we ain't Okc... We the Lakers... And I hear we're a f***ing "gold mine"... so the league can tax us the f*** away... At least with this Laker tax, we had a say in it.

I just don’t like that mofo JC. He and DlO were disappointing. I thought they would tear it up for the Lakers, but that’s just wishful history.

What's BI's max? Whatever it is, i cringe at the thought of paying him that much.
