IMO, Lonzo is way more valuable than kuz, but think of it this way:
Kuz+ability to offer max FA
Vs
Lonzo + a couple mediocre FAs

 

Not to mention that Kuzma would be coming off the bench for AD, who's preferred position is PF.

 

How about,
PG: Lonzo
SG: Bogdanovic
SF: Lebron
PF: AD
C: Vucevic

 

Give me the max guy.

 

So Kemba over Lonzo + Bodanovic + Vucevic?

 

I love that team! But not as much as three superstars. If the 3rd guy is a Kemba walker, then no way.

 

Vuc will get the max so this roster isn't even possible.

 

Vuc will cost the max so this is moot. It's more like Kemba vs Zo/Bogdanovic...

 

Replace Vucevic with a ring chaser that may take a slight discount over 3-4 years like Al Horford then.

 

Horford isn't taking a discount unless he's opting out of his current deal, which he'd be crazy to do.

Market for Horford would be pretty hot though on a short term deal. I don't think you can afford both Horford and Bogdanovic if we keep Lonzo

 

Vucevic is so underrated. He would be the perfect center to compliment Bron and AD. Shoots, unselfish, great passer, good screens, no ego, and clutch scorer.

 

It's not crazy at all. We'll be the favorites to win to a title. He'll be making more money in the long run, perhaps even some endorsement deals that weren't available in Boston.

 

I love Vuc too. he's the perfect fit next to LeBron imo.

Wouldn't be upset at all if we got him.

 

Well in the case of Vucevic, slot in Danny Green or some ring chaser instead. Or a Bogdanovic + Horford (ring chaser that also wants decent contract) that I mentioned earlier.

BTW we could still make the trade work keeping Lonzo. We just need to throw in the rest of our remaining kids in the trade if we want max space.

 

GOod point Tada. I'm sure we're looking at all these options but we want to preserve some depth as welll...having Kuz, Hart, Wagner those are some nice depth pieces for us (i know Wagner wasn't too good last year but I think his PT was also very inconsistent and he was injured all of training camp/pre-season if you remember). Ultimately, we have to look at it from the perspective of who are we going to target in free agency after we potentially get AD? If we're getting one of Kyrie or Kemba...getting rid of Lonzo makes more sense (i know they can play together but still)..if we're getting Butler, Kawhi, Klay...probably makes more sense to get rid of Kuzma/Hart/Wagner/Bonga and keep Lonzo. It's tough to know that right now so we'll have to make a decision based on the information we have right now. Tough call...I'd love to keep Lonzo...but I also won't miss the drama that Lavar brings and COULD bring next year and beyond...

 

Just get the deal done. Keep whoever you can and make it work.

That said, I think it’s pretty unlikely Zo or BI won’t be included in the trade.

so why give up both zo n bi? cross the bridge of moving one of em to fit a max guy when time comes or face another possible pg scenario
