You didn't here this from me, but my old college roommate is currently working for Klutch Sports. We went out to dinner last night, and after a few drinks, he dropped a bit of info.

The trade will most likely happen on Monday. Don't count on Zo & BI to be playing for the Lakers next year. The player we will most likely keep: Kyle Kuzma.

yeah, that's what that cuffs guy said last week, too. given kuz's salary, he was the most likely to stay anyway.

i think the deal is basically done but they don't want to upstage the finals (or have been asked not to). hence all the weird leaks about ny, bkn, and lac's lowered interest, etc.

then again, i thought it was done at the deadline, too, so what do i know?

    Nice. Good stuff.

I think Mr. Rambis' latest tidbit he gave us is the FO's struggle to try to keep Lonzo. After seeing the last Rich Paul note about Boston, New York not having the best assets, the leverage is just so hard to miss. Ingram, Kuz, and the #4 is already a massive haul for NOLA. Throw Hart in there with another 1st or two to keep Lonzo, I think they'll push for that.

I would LOVE IT, if we could keep Zo or BI... i'll be fine with Kuz staying i guess.
Would you rather keep Kuz or no.4?

We're not keeping Lonzo or Ingram. That's why we need a 3rd team involved. Because the Pelicans won't even take both of them and the #4 for AD, so we need a 3rd team who wants Lonzo in return for picks or an allstar.

Correct... but we can always tell them to "f*** off". If this thing drags till winter, we have another lost season on our hands.

    #4

I love what a value Kuz has turned out to be, but #4 is simply more valuable either as a prospect for us or as bait to make an additional move. No-brainer we'd hang onto #4 if given that choice.

It's moot though, because I don't see any shot of an AD deal going down that doesn't include #4.

Lets hope the deal is agreed to and announced on Monday but not official until after July 1st. If we actually make the trade Monday we won’t have a full max to offer FA. We’ll only have $20 something mil. That’s still pretty good to get some tier 3 FAs to round out the roster.

The front office is a mess indeed. But Kawhi and PG not getting dealt to the Lakers wasn't really anyones fault within the lakers. They literally did everything they
could to NOT trade their stars to the Lakers. NOTHING the lakers coulda done.

Much like the Kevin Love trade back in 2015, this will be agreed to in principle and executed 30 days after signing whomever the Pelicans want us to draft.

Here's to hoping LeBron doesn't start the season hating AD cuz he came in to training camp out of shape the way KLove did LMFAO

    /r/lakers insider claims the following.

    "Hey guys,

As of 10pm yesterday, Lakers and pelicans have agreed on majority of the trade. What I was told is that Lakers have official told pelicans what they are putting on the table, and the pelicans have agreed to it

The problem has been the third team, during the initial stages it was between Chicago and Phoenix. However both teams have fallen off, two new emerging team have came out, the wizards and the hawks.

There is a high sense of optimism that the trade will get done."

@Mr. Rambis have you heard anything similar?

Guys, I know our FO seems like a mess, but Pelinka knows the rules. He’s not going to accidentally execute a trade first if we need to wait until a max FA is signed to make the money/cap work. I’m sure every surface in his office and house is covered in post-it notes that say “sign max FA, then execute AD trade, in that order” . . . Figuratively speaking of course. Getting the order of operations wrong is not something we need to be worrying about right now.

Apparently RDAmbition is trustworthy on r/Lakers. We will see but i hope we don't trade the whole team.

I’m sure rob is keenly aware of the sequence and is trying his best to delay the official trade until after we sign a max FA. The problem is that the pelicans should prefer to trade now. I’m sure they want to bring in and work out several draft options, which they can’t do unless they have the pick in hand. If they’re already sold on a guy at 4, then they can obviously wait and let the Lakers select for them.

[Begley] A league source said Tuesday that [the Lakers] have made progress towards completing a multi-team deal for Anthony Davis

    Maybe there's more to it.

Damn, did he have to refer to himself in the third person multiple times though? Now I’m picturing LeBron and Paul having long discussions where they refer to themselves in the third person. “A LeBron James team is never desperate”, “yeah, a Rich Paul client is always satisfied..”.
