I don't think Anthony Davis and "move on" should be in the same sentence. He's a 26-year old generational talent, and there's a real shot at getting him. Whatever pinch we might feel with the asking price, it'll be dwarfed by the dividends a successful trade would bring in. Imagine how much better you'd feel waking up tomorrow, knowing the Lakers have AD. I don't think you'd be upset about losing any of our young guys. We'll be fine.

Woj said, direct quote “you’re looking at some complex scenarios here to get a deal done”. He said Griffin has told teams go get a 3rd team involved, a 4th team involved. I think AD is a top 5 NBA player, I think we should do all we can to try and get him, but at a certain point you can only do so much. You probably can’t move heaven and earth by draft day in 10 days to satisfy NO every desire. That’s all I’m saying. If we have to go get a 3rd and 4th team involved, trade away Zo, BI, Kuz, the #4, multiple future 1sts to be able to stockpile assets to come back to the Pelicans with, that’s kind of ridiculous. What other team has had to do that for a star or all-star the last 2 years? Tada and I pointed out what stars have been traded for, Kawhi is a top 2 player if not THE best player in the league and he went for less than the Pelicans are asking for right now .

LOL...Woj must have HATED saying that we were the leader...he just HAS to throw in a jab to our young guys saying it's still not enough and we need to get more assets somehow from another team USING one of our young players...luckily PHX and CHI are going to want Lonzo so they'll be willing to pony up.

Who’s our PG target if Zo goes in the package?

Kyrie looks doubtful. Kemba would be okay with me. If we sign a max FA wing, who’s an affordable pg? Play Lebron at the point?
    Lebron
    Butler
    Kuzma

Full Woj on SC video. I hate posting quotes alone because you don’t get exactly how he said it, you take it how you read it

I agree with Weezy here. Most of us have said that we'll likely land on BI/Zo/4th as the final deal with MAYBE a future first attached to push it over the line...but I think that general framework is what all of us have anticipated. I kinda figured that Griffin wouldn't want Zo because of the drama he brings with Lavar (and Griffin has actually said this on NBATV regarding Zo, that he's a great talent, but it's too much drama to deal with). Him wanting an all star is dumb given Zion's timeline...but I guess if we can somehow flip Zo for a proven guy (who is even available?)...then you do it...but if you can flip Zo for the 6th or 7th pick along with a future pick from that same team (PHX or CHI), that's some really good return for NOLA.

Please NO. And imagine his 34 year old groin chasing the elite point guards or 2 guards around.

Griffin is posturing. While I can see a 3 team deal it’s not needed here.

I remember a Bulls reporter said Dunn has low to nonexistent trade value. So I guess that pkg is possible.

We’be come a long way from them not wanting to deal with us though.

Also all the posturing should make it easier for him to sell the trade to Pelicans fans who hate us for whatever reason. He can just say he worked all the angles and got the best deal he could.

This will hopefully be over soon.

Well he’s gonna posture himself right out of a package of great young players from us and getting to select who he wants with the 4th pick in the draft if he doesn’t cool it. I know Rob is inexperienced and has given up too much in some deals before, but I think eventually he’s going to figure out this game and then you’re going to end up taking mediocre players in Robinson and Knox, plus the 3rd pick.

    For those wondering....

Waiving/renouncing everybody from the books leaves about 7.5m in dead money (via Noah stretch and Thomas partial guaranteed contract) on the Knicks' books.

Adding incomplete roster charges and AD (without 15% trade kicker) to their books via trade before they have any free agents commit leads to a team salary of 44.5m for just AD, meaning they have 64.5m in cap.

You need 65.4m in cap space for 2 max guys and you need 70.9m for KD + another max guy.

So the Knicks would be trading/renouncing/waiving their entire roster for AD, heading into free agency blind and they wouldn't even be able to have enough to give true maxes to both of their max free agents.

So why would AD want the Knicks still? One reason would be that he knows Ky, KD or another free agent is going there already and he would like to link up with them. But that type of speculation in LA doesn't exist cause he already knows Bron is there.

So what's the other reason? Just like eliminating Boston from the deadline with his initial trade demand, AD/Klutch used Shams to essentially give Griff a LA or bust ultimatum.

Add to that how the narrative is that Griff wants a deal done asap and that Barrett pretty much begged the Knicks to draft and keep him (which means he would not want to be sent to Nawlins to play with fellow Dukie Zion) and well...#LAD.

If it comes down to the Knicks and us, I expect a trade to be announced by the end of the week with AD coming to us.

Wtf do the Knicks have besides the #3. Your basketball credential should be revoked if you can look me straight in the face and say the Knicks package is better.

I honestly think the conversation behind closed doors is much different on this one.

It not necessarily that. 2 years and LBJ can opt out or be a year away from retiring. That would leave us with AD and that it on the Lakers if we trade away all our young assets for AD. Now life could be a lot worse and having AD on the Lakers long term players might want to come.

But if we really want to build something sustainable, and your the Lakers you think long and hard about giving up all your blue chip young assets in Lonzo, Ingram, and Kuzma just to have Lebron and AD on the team together and maybe a Jimmy Butler if we're lucky.

We'd be special in the near future, but loss a lot of the deep rotational talent that is required to win a ring and continue to be successful. Look at TOR this year. There are more talented teams out there even in their own conference (look at Philly). But it was how those pieces play tomorrow and their deep team that has allowed TOR to do what they have this year with a one great player at the helm guiding them.

I'd be more than happy to cut ties with AD if it meant giving up everyone and instead go with Lebron and whoever we can sign like a Jimmy Butler while keeping all our young talent who is help carry us for the next decade. That is sustainable life right there and not something that in 3-4 years is just going to be AD and the Lakers.

Watch some random team like Indiana or Denver or Portland come in with an offer that gets accepted.
