    Pelicans fans seem hellbent on not dealing with the Lakers, whether they think our assets are garbage or they just hate us, I don't know. I get the idea that we kind of overvalue our young guys though, and the fact that we missed the playoffs with LeBron, albeit with the injuries, was the worst case scenario for their values this summer.

    Pelicans fans aren’t in charge though, David Griffin was hired to handle this. If he’s allowed to do his job, he’s one of the most competent guys in the league and will take the best deal offered. The Pelicans ownership may be salty, their fans may want different, but Griffin and Kutch appear to have a good relationship and again, if he’s allowed to make the final decision in this, we are absolutely one of the teams with the most to offer, if not the most to offer. He’s already spoken super highly of Ingram, the #4 is a huge trade piece, and their org is repertory high on Zo too.

    True, if what Mr. Rambis said is true though, we basically gave them an embarrassingly bad initial offer, they countered with what I consider a more realistic ask, and we haven't responded to it. I hope they meet in the middle, but I don't think they're going to accept an offer that doesn't include both Ingram and Lonzo.

    makes no financial sense, even if he wants to stay.

    but tbh, teams have been getting around this illegally without repercussions of late, imo. no way houston signs paul to that deal if they hadn't illegally agreed to it prior. no way he opts in in the first place to allow the trade.

    Our initial offer should have been Ingram + 4th pick

    Then they can go shopping and ultimately we land on Ingram, Zo, 4th pick OR Ingram, 4th pick, future pick or Ingram, Zo, 4th pick AND future pick (if push comes to shove)

    i imagine they've basically been over every possible offer in existence even prior to them being made. they're just waiting to see if they can get something nearer to the top of their wish list. makes sense.

    don't think they should let it drag past draft night, though. they already missed an opportunity at the deadline. griffin knows it keeps getting worse.
