My bad on the Muscala contract. I got bad info from my local radio station. Just looked it up and he indeed is expiring, so scratch my complaint about cap space! Still don't like the move since Zubac was still very young and progressing nicely. We could have kept him with the cheap cap hold. Oh well.

Windhorst sums it up well here. People don't want to do the Lakers any favors, but they're still willing to trade with us if we have good assets. The problem is none of our young guys are franchise players or someone that will make an immediate impact right away.

 

But everyone sees Tatum as that player? He's good, but he's no franchise player either. He had a great playoffs along with the rest of his team, but lets not get it twisted thinking this kid is an unstoppable scorer or leader like everyone is making him out to be.

 

He's the only one who's proven in the playoffs, and probably the only one most would agree has the potential to be a franchise cornerstone. His production has regressed this season for sure, but I couldn't see Lonzo, Ingram, or Kuzma even today doing what Tatum did on a team without its two best players.

It’s in LAs best interest to go back on their hands and knees and apologize for the circus they caused and get as close to a stable relationship with the Pels as they can get to. Come summer, no leaks, everything private and come to a deal. If they take a Boston deal with Tatum so be it, but they are going to have one of the top, if not the top offer for Davis when the time comes.

Yea it’s LA taking another L and looking weak and doing something they said they wouldn’t do (Negotiating in the summer for AD) but if they want their guy, they have to come at a different angle.

And FFS dominate this stretch, get the kids into the playoffs and let them spread their wings. It’s only going to help.
