    Pels still have 16 on the roster and now we have an open roster spot...but still I think its a wrap for the deadline and we'll revisit it in the summer (as we originally expected and still a solid contingency plan with signing a max guy player 1st then trading for AD 2nd).

    Yep. That's what worries me. The Clippers have accumulated quite a few assets they can flip for him in the offseason. Their package still wouldn't be better than what we could offer (or have already offered). But the best package obviously doesn't matter in this situation, only the perception that they didn't cave to the evil Lakers.

    I could see the Clippers having Kawhi and AD. The Knicks will have Kyrie and KD. We will have Lebron and cap space.

    I think that if everything unfolds that way, AD is will end up on LAL. I don't see AD doing all of this and then settling for the clips no matter what happens this summe. But that is still wishful thinking.

    The bright side of that whole situation is that the cbags would end up with nothing. If KD/Irving end up in NY, I don't see AD going to anyone in the east.

    What to expect from the media:
    - Lakers/Magic failed to get AD.
    - Lakers didn't offer everything.

    Will the Lakers look back after the offseason plays out and think why didn’t we just add those two late 1st round picks for a 25 year old player in his prime?

    I hope not. I really do. But we’ve seen how this played out before. Is currently playing out with Kawhi and now potentially Davis.

    You guys realize if AD gets traded elsewhere and plays for the year, we are potentially rolling over cap space again waiting for him to maybe come here in 2020?

    The Lakers been close on a superstar this offseason...

    If I actually believed the Pelicans would have taken that deal I might be a little upset, but I don’t. They were clearly never trading him to us after how Rich Paul played this.

    Pelicans were never going to trade with us and took great pleasure in stretching this out and wasting our time. I'm fine with us moving on completely.
