We went all out to get AD because he's Anthony Davis, a 25 year old MVP caliber Player.
The Media's is gonna spin things as Anti Laker regardless. I just don't see how this diminishes the value of our guys, at all.

 

all the youth has to do is play better and up their production, these leaks and failed attempts to trade for AD isn't going to devalue them, only poor play will and Indy gm just started. Hopefully they bounce back in a big way Thurs (but then again I dont have to much faith in Luke)

 

I gotta side with @Weezy on all of this...that 42 point blowout to the Dipo-less Pacers who played on 2nd night of a back to back was extremely bad timing on our part...and could actually cost us a pick or two based on the narrative being pushed by the media.

We are not in a position of power like we thought...and I actually think we are going to be forced to make a deal to save face for this season...or we're going to likely miss the playoffs (not the worst thing in the world as we may get lucky in the Lotto and get a top 3 pick...wouldn't that be something?)

 

I think the best move here is to actually go after Irving in FA hard. Use LeBron to tamper with him prior to July 1st if you have to. If he's not there, then no way the C Bags pursue AD as a rental by giving up Tatum. Then LA can reduce their offer for AD and roll with a better team.

I agree with your sentiment but Riley is the reason that teams is so medicore and yet so expensive and they no longer have a Wade lvl guy to attract a star there....there's no possibility of a super team this time around to save Riley

The logic is great that it does make Boston hesitate giving up the entire team for AD. AD would definitely become a rental and leave if he’s playing on a team with Hayward and nobody else (we are assuming Boston gives up both Tatum/Brown and Smart).

Suddenly our offer of BI/Lonzo/Kuz/Hart/Wagner (Zubac would be a free agent) looks pretty good to the Pelicans and we wouldn’t need to take on a Soloman Hill contract.
