Huh? See what they had? I don't agree w/that; BI and the Number 2 pick and maybe another asset would have gotten it done; and they're not trading it to the same "conference", they're not asking to be "over-compensated," etc.

We just decided to wait until Free Agency and that was a mistake.

I actually think with the right coach and good environment, BI would be way ahead. Seeing D-Lo made me realize it.

Yes IND probably out of spite would have never traded PG to LAL. The thing that Maginka underestimated with PG is an NBA player's ego. PG probably, likely (given how he behaved) felt disrespected by us. Paula acted like a jilted girl who went to the first guy who showed her some love and respect. Basically it allowed OKC to keep him.

Like i've said before, we won't have that issue with AD.

also, Mintz. i've heard that a lot of GM's and agents didn't like the fact that Pelinka, a big player agent, was coming on as GM because of his relationships with a lot of players and other agents, especially with the Lakers.

this is where I draw the line because this is just straight up pettiness and collusion. jeanie needs to take revenue sharing off the table next owners meeting, that'll teach small market teams to not want to deal with the most profitable team in the NBA.

I noticed a few things in last night's game and I have come to my own conclusions. First off, everyone on the team is shook up by these trade rumors. You could see it in the way that they played. Even LeBron looked like he didn't give a crap. I believe he's done with these kids, and he is all in on getting AD. Also if you looked at the bench when LeBron was out, nobody was sitting near him. There were empty seats on both sides of him, and the rest of the guys were sitting at the other end of the bench together. It appears like it might be LeBron vs the rest of the team. LaVar is already running his mouth about his son not wanting to play in New Orleans and wanting to go to Phoenix. Luke gets into a verbal altercation with three veterans a few nights ago. The writing is on the wall.

It might be too late to put the toothpaste back in the tube. I know that Magic and Pelinka can't really stop the media madness, but now they have no choice but to make that trade for AD. If they don't make the trade, this team is toast. They have to trade for AD and go down that path. The old path of developing the kids and adding through free agency this off-season is now dead. It's AD or bust.

And Luke Walton needs to get fired. He has lost complete control of the team. There is no discipline, no respect, in-fighting, cliques forming, and most importantly poor effort and play on the court. I still think they'll wait until after the trade deadline to fire him, so after the C Bags game, he's gone IMO. And quite frankly, he deserves it. There is no system in place and when you lose to a team that just lost their best player to injury by 42 points, well you get canned.

In case people didn't notice, the Logo quietly just opened up enough cap space and acquired enough draft picks to be serious players for Anthony Davis, Kawhi, or any other free agents we are going to go after. I have a sneaky feeling he's going to go after AD right now. Lakers need to close that deal. They are backed into a corner. I'm not a fan of this deal at all, but I now believe it has to get done.

    Thoughts?

I wonder if the Clippers would be willing to part with one of the 1st round picks they got from the Harris trade to facilitate a trade for AD for us? One more gift from Jerry to us.

    Something like:

    Lakers In: AD, Beverly
    Clippers In: Lonzo
Pelicans In: Kuz, Ingram, Zu, Ingram, 2019 Lakers 1st, 2021 Miami 1st (unprotected via LAC)

    We'd end up with:

    Rondo/Beverly
    Hart/Stephenson
    Lebron/Bullock
    AD/Beasley/Wagner
    McGee/Chandler

If the Clippers won't part with the Miami pick, either they give us Lou and the higher of the 2020 Philly pick or their pick with our 2021 1st.

Clippers get Lonzo without having to give up much.
Pelicans get their multiple picks, one unprotected which is a lot more valuable than multiple ones.
Lakers get AD and a defensive nuisance like Beverly, or Lou.

Yeah, I'm afraid so. I've been worried about that ever since we turned him down. Don't bet against Jerry West, it's not likely to work out in your favor. Look at the track record.

We might still get away with it, but it's still in the back of my mind.

How about we keep our youth and say f*** you to LeBron LeGM and roll the dice in the off-season for a Kawhi, kemba, Klay, KD, Kyrie situation to unfold. LeBron said he recruits all the time. I'm sure he can get us another Max free agent to jump ship. I rather have depth and improving talent than Davis who's injury proned.

bad for NBA? the whole dam league and media have been trying so hard to push the narrative that our offer suck, that the league needs to block the trade (fat a** barkley), etc. Hell no, the league is salivating in laughter over our debacle
