Thank you LeBron, you are who we thought you were and who you have always been.

If we sign a max level player in 2019 (which is the plan) then we will absolutely not have cap space in 2020 for AD.

And if we don't, I believe Ingram's cap hold will be will also be cutting into the space that we have...not enough for a max. Could be wrong though.....

Seriously. Who does Lebron think he is bringing his historically great talents to our team and putting us in position to acquire another top 5 player!

Since it’s obvious the NBA isn’t gonna let us do a blockbuster trade, I think there’s 3 ways we can still be kings of basketball:

    1) Our scouting department needs to continue finding hidden gems in the draft. They’re really good at what they do, and that trend has to continue.

    2) Our player development staff must improve or be replaced. It’s a recurring theme even back to the D-Lo, Nance and Clarkson years that our guys don’t make the necessary jump after their rookie season. Same can be said for our current crop of youngsters. That has to change.

    3) Magic, Rob, Jeanie and the recruitment team must hit homeruns in free agency. This summer is critical to our success. Even finding 2nd tier stars to round out the bench is important.

Leaking our package (pause), was tactical.

If and when a deal gets done and the package doesn't have all the same moving parts it had before, the Pels lose and will be viewed as dummies.

AD "liked" our trade proposal on socials...Pels/Boston lose.

Leaking our godfather proposal and then publicly announcing that we would stretch Hill shows other free agents this summer that an AD trade doesnt necessarily close the door on y'all...Boston loses.

Rumor has it Ky bestie, Butler will be on the move...Boston loses.

Haynes reports AD was cleared for practice and gameplay but the Pels denied him to play vs Indy... Pels lose vs Player's union

Holding your star hostage to trade him to a team he doesn't want to go to...Pels will lose more than just that trade #KlutchKillers

And if anything else, the best way for the Lakers to use their cap space is to bring in a max player 1st, then trade our kiddies for AD 2nd...and thats our contingency plan...bring on the summer then and Boston/Nawlins, stay losing.

take that Pels offer, sans all the picks, and propose it to Toronto for Kawhi

Would it be smart if we come out and say our deal will be different come summer?

F that, Kawhi can be had in the off season, yea I know Paula situation but if Kawhi has the tenants on his radar i'm not taking that chance he jumps to the locker room after the season is over.

if we trade for him...we'll have the inside track on retaining him and we'll be acquiring his bird rights...very crucial for Kawhi especially after he gave up the super max...

I think the crummy reality is that the Pelicans will feel compelled to make a deal with the C Bags in the summer, just to justify irrationality turning down our godfather offer at the deadline.

Magic already told them they had our best offer. Now next season we will pursue a max free agent first, and then we will engage them on a trade, but the package will most certainly be different because we have so many expiring contracts.

We will actually have a very difficult time putting together a package in the off-season I think unless we wait till the next trade deadline

If we are going to try to renounce almost all of our players, then I’m not sure how we will match salary unless we are giving away all of our young talent again. ***sigh***

I wondered at the time why Maginka did not stretch Deng. Only now we see the potential chess move.

I dont think Tor is going to deal Kawhi anyways, they'll take their chances like OKC did with PG. But if I had to make an offer I'd offer only Ingram/KCP for Kawhi.

It'll definitely be different. When Kyrie opts out, when Ainge removes Tatum from his packages.

We won't need to include all three core players, we won't need to include multiple draft picks. Take it or leave it, we still have room for a max player and then some. Or we trade for a player with one deal remaining and have AD walk to us in the following year.

We're in no rush to give up our core.

    Speaking of chess...

    (btw Bron @'d Cuff today)

Speaking of cuffs...how is the public perception that Ainge/Boston can conspire with Demps to trade for AD later this summer in order to convince Kyrie to stay perceived as anything other than tampering? You would be manipulating a would be free agent with a player that you don't even have on your own roster yet.

Lakers need to start aiming for the head in this dirty a** business!

Hopefully all of our young guys ball out for the rest of the year and New Orleans ends up looking absolutely inept and stupid for passing up the embarrassment of riches we were going to bestow upon them. People should and will be fired for it.
