He left PG out of the "superstar" video.

That Chris Paul trade is laughable, they were getting Pau and Odom from us smh, it only looks better in hindsight because the draft pick magically became the #1 pick. The Kawhi trade seems the best in all that, at least they got an all-star.

the #1 pick Pelicans got and turn into Davis wasn't from Cp3 trade, that pick resulted in Austin Rivers lol

Wow, the narrative has changed so much on this I had completely forgotten this. I think it’s possible what I read then is that the Clippers trade LEAD them to getting Davis, in that it made them so bad they then got the #1 pick the next season. I think?

I think so. They didn't have the best odds for that pick though. Somehow "Basketball Reasons" led to enough balls to get the job done though...somehow the lottery went their way......their way right before the team got sold...a team owned by the NBA......and it is the same NBA that runs the NBA draft....not a different NBA.

yes and no, they were slated for 9th or something that low and "magically" jumped into #1.....would not shock me to find out if Stern rigged that draft to make Pelicans more sellable that yr

stern took the lesser deal so the hornets could tank and magically they came up with the #1 overall pick

it was all about making the franchise more attractive to potential buyers

I'm still not sure this is the end. We offered everything. Greedy j******es upped it every time. They're not going to get a better offer anywhere, not close.

If this was Thursday, I'd say that's the end of it. But it's a long way till then. They'll return to the table and talk again.

The leak shows everyone (AD included, hence the like) we were offering up the roster + picks. Who else is going to do that? Boston might not even include Tatum and KI might not stay and AD ain't staying . Too many uncertainties.

I think a deal can still get done. Otherwise our chemistry is going to take a hit with the kids, Luke will lose the locker room. And NO put themselves in a bad spot with how they've handled AD since the request. Other teams are going to start calling after seeing how much we made available. That will leak, NO will sweat cause then we aren't a possibility for them this summer after Boston f***s them over.

Fit wise, I think we are better off keeping the vets, namely Rondo.

And last but not least, get Ball out of here. I'm done with that family.

I don't think we should just "get rid" of Ball for nothing. If we do, make it top 3 protected this summer and then unprotected in 2020. That'll be a very valuable chip to use in a trade over the summer

Two things: Zo will be an all-star. He's only in his second year, gotta let him develop. And we will not have cap space in 2020 unless we let some of these youngsters walk. 2019 is the last chance we have to sign a max level guy. We don't NEED AD to build a championship level team. If we get Kawhi through free agency and keep the core together, that is a championship level team right there, barring health.

I'll remember this post. But you are also not looking at the big picture. Zo is 21 and could be around for the next 15 years. After LeBron is gone, you don't think Lonzo can't be a multiple year all-star? You're going to trade a guy like that because his dad said some stupid crap???

I didn't say he wont be one all together, I said he wont be with James here. I think Zo will be an all-star just not here, just like Dlo

Of course he could be traded, especially for AD, but you don't trade him just because his dad is a moron.

We will have room in 2020 if we don't sign anyone this season. Lonzo, Hart and Kuzma will have one more team option year on their rookie deals. Ingram will be ready for his extention, but it'll be his first big contract, so even if he gets the max (which I hope he does cause it would mean he developed into an all-star) we'll have room for ADs max.

I disagree with Ball being an all-star. He's a great glue guy and a nice complimentary player. But for him to become an all-star, he will need to be able to develop some sort of consistency on his shot. Not saying he has to score 20 ppg. I'm not even saying he has to score 15. But he can't hit free throws nor can he hit from 3 which make him a liability in crunch time.

Hitting 41% of his FTs is certainly not going to help him become an all star. He has to improve his shooting.
